Is it possible to be so really interested in so many things that a person just shuts down and does nothing?

I think it is. There's too many things you want to do and wind up doing nothing because you can't decide. I've had that happen to me.

It is possible. It's happened with me (us). Take up too many interests and you'll reach a point where you're not sure where to direct your energy toward,. This one? or this one? No, no, this one?...so your mind decides, "to hell with them all".
This is especially true when you want to take up more than one hobby at once. Try choosing one. Master that one, and then move on to the next one. Or, choose two. Plan for them for example, Monday and Tuesday, I will focus on X, and Thursday and Friday, i'll focus on Y. Saturday, I'll practise X for a little while and Sunday, I'll try Y again. Or keep weekends free. Up to you. The short of it is, take up a maximum of two. That way you can give more focus and energy, and then move on to others, once you're comfortable with the first one (or two). and the advantage is that you're less likely to throw your brain into overload and subsequent shut down mode. And plan your week around your interest. Remember to be patient with yourself and let things ease into a routine. Good luck! ![]() |
