I would like to start of by saying thank you for taking the time to answer everyone's questions because I know that many people would give up and wouldn't take the time to answer them all.
(Just showing a little appreciation where it is deserved)

That being said, you may not be able to answer my question.
I live in Canada so it's different from the USA health system
I would like to see a psychologist so hopefully I can either start seeing a therapist or go on medication or something because I am ... falling apart? ... Both my parents are against it and my doctor is siding with them. I am not sure why. But without her approval I don't know how to get in and book an appointment.

Any ideas would help. I can't switch doctors. Emerge and walk-in clinics don't do that. Thanks again!

I am unfamiliar with the Canadian healthcare system, yet, to try to circumvent your current doctor, seems like a sticky situation. Are second opinions allowed?
Is there a specific reason that your doctor doesn't believe that you should have counseling sessions?

i don't know why a doc wouldn't refer you to a doc or t, i don't know much but really can't understand your predicament, i mean why wouldn't they give you the help you need.

Hey guys,
So my family thinks I am faking everything and don't think I should waste peoples time talking about "Fake" problems. They somehow convinced my doctor of it. I am not sure on the details other than I have been told no ...
My parent's have called me a liar to my face and when I was in my early teens I lashed out. Self-harm, drugs, drinking ect. They now consider those my "dark times" and insist that I am all better now...
It's all very confusing.

How old are you? if you're 18+ then you can go to the doctors' on your own and sort things out (and your parents don't have to know about it). It's under code that doctors aren't allowed to release information to third parties without your consent (including your parents). It's extremely confidential.

But if you're younger than 18 I suggest going to your school's counsellors and tell them about your mental health and about your situation. You'll be able to get help like that. (Even if you're 18+ colleges/universities have counselling options for you to choose from and they won't disclose your information).

I hope this helps
