Can anyone find me some good resources on Schizophrenia- hallucinations and delusions? Not just the standard stuff I find in a Google search? I'm looking for really in-depth information. I'm really interested in learning about psychosis that mimics OCD symptoms with music and word repetition. But I also would like to read more about auditory hallucinations and types of delusions. Thanks!

Yes, I know. I visit said forums daily. I am asking for online resources outside of these forums.

I see you are in Missouri (the USA) a bit of info back in may 2013 america switched over to new standards of things like what now is considered symptoms of mental disorders, what is now the new standards for diagnosing mental disorders, new diagnostic tests and procedures for those testing processes....

my point you many not be able to find anything that America now goes by because this change over is still relatively new.

my suggestion would be visit your local or nearest public library. go to their reference department and read through the pages on Schizophrenia disorders in the DSM 5. the way the DSM 5 is laid out is that you will find the disorder diagnostics then in the 3-10 pages after the diagnostic criteria you will find in depth information about symptomology, information relevant to things like cultural background, co morbidity, categories of diagnostic features, development and course of that mental disorder, functionality, differentials, risk and prognosis factors... all kinds of new standards america treatment providers now go by.

if you cant locate the DSM 5 on your own have no fear you dont have to tell a librarian whether you have that mental disorder or not or why you need that information. All you need to say is walk up to a librarian and say Im trying to locate the DSM 5 (diagnostic Statistical Manual 5th edition) do you have a copy and where can I find it.

another suggestion contact your (or any mental health treatment agency\provider) I have found they are very good at helping anyone find information on mental disorders. even college students working on their thesis \term papers so you wont have to tell them whether you have the mental disorder you are looking for information on. you can use what ever excuse you are comfortable giving them if they even bother to ask why you need that info.

Look Here ----> Psych Central - Search results for Schizophrenia- hallucinations and delusions After you get through the ads listed, it could be informative.

Psych Central is full of a lot more information than just what you find in the forums. I went to the Home page and searched from there. I hope it helps.

Searching from the HOME page Psych Central - Trusted mental health, depression, bipolar, ADHD & psychology information. gets you way different results than searching for the forums page.

Also this looked interesting ---->The Connection Between OCD & Psychosis | Psych Central

When I was looking for information on Conversion Disorder I looked everywhere. Eventually I ended up back here, where I found the best information. Even better than NAMI

Ya I've pretty much looked at all the stuff on psychcentral's non-forum pages. However, I haven't seen the one about OCD and psychosis...so I'll have to check it out! Thanks!
