I haven't sleep in days, please help. From when I wake up until I'm about to go to bed I'm perfectly fine, but as soon as I lay in bed for a few minutes I hear a humming sound. It's unbearable! It'll almost force me to stay up all night, but if I do manage to go to sleep with this irritating hum sound, I wake up with nose bleeds, a major headache, and I'm very dizzy. When I get out of bed and put TV or something on, the noise goes away, but it'll reappear if I even try to go to bed. If I lay on the couch for an hour or so with the TV on, the humming will reappear. I'm literally going insane! Sometimes I'll yell at the sound but it gets louder and louder everyday! Please help.

Josiah, do you have a primary care doctor? Even the humming sound alone would merit a visit to the doctor, but the nosebleeds, headaches, and dizziness make it extremely advisable.
Please go to the doctor. |

What you describe is called tinnitus. Only those who suffer from it can hear the sound, which varies in serverity from person to person. It may go away, it may not. I recommend that you see a doctor as soon as possible.

We can't diagnose here but it does sound like there could be a physical illness that is making you hear this humming sound. Menieres disease for example can cause symptoms like yours. Go see your doctor and then you can get your mind put at rest as to what it is and the right treatment.

If you have had a cold or sinus or ear infection recently, it could also be related to that. Or high blood pressure. I had it a few months ago. I googled it. Mine eventually went away by itself, but in between there i did go on antibiotics for some lung stuff. It has been a really rough summer for respiratory diseases, imo. I think i even bought a sinus inhaler, trying to break something thru. I used to overuse those back in the '70's
