I have a question about moving. if you have a month supply of drugs and you're moving out of state in 2 days and you start experiencing side effects or worsening side effects in the new state what are your options as your prescribing psychiatrist is in the state you just moved from? There is a wait to see a psych so won't be able to get in until February. What would the options be?

Halfhesky, that is a question that you will have to check out with your doctor. Hopefully you did set up a support system with all your doctors from the state you are leaving as a reference so when you moved they could be contacted to continue your meds. Call and ask the doctors office. That should work. Blessings... tc

Good question. I would make an appointment with the first shrink that has an opening and bring all my meds with me. If that didn't pan out, I would try to find a primary care physician in my new place and bring all my meds with me. My normal medical doc handles my psych meds as I've been on them from 2 states ago.

But the insurance doesn't kick in until Feb 1st so how can you change to a new drug if the side effects get worse?
