I recently lost my business due to "operation choke point". Our beautiful government licenses business and after you invest all of your assets in it, they decided to "choke" you. I was nothing but a supplements seller. Apparently, now supplements are all labeled as "pseudo pharmaceuticals" and I have no way to recover. My bank account shot down my checking account, closed my merchant account. I have no way of selling my inventory. Losing my home, cars and everything else. So depressed it is not funny. Questioning life...

I'm so sorry. Loss can send us spiralling down and you are right to be concerned about your depression. Through this all don't forget about yourself or your needs. It is easy to lose ourselves in dispair in such circumstances - particularly to question our self worth.. But remember, you did not cause this. You do not deserve this. Try to avoid beating yourself up.

I wish I could have a fix for you. I welcome you aboard. You are in the right place to express your worries about your situation and get support for your depression.

Welcome to Psych Central, GossipsCity! I suggest you seek a therapist who doesn't charge much--a sliding scale in a clinical setting. Depression can lead to what you are saying.

Is there anyone you can talk to about your finances? Seeking another job?

I am so sorry that happened to you. The government pulled out the rug out from under you. But don't give up. Okay?

Hang in there. People survive bankruptcies. It's tough and stressful but you can do it and you can recover and start over. Be gentle to yourself in the process

You might like to write in this forum also >>> Recession, Layoffs and the Economy You are not alone in what has happened to you but trust that things will not always be so bad, many people bounce back after a setback.
