Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder characterized by some, but not necessarily all, of the following features: emotional blunting, intellectual deterioration, social isolation, disorganized speech and behavior, delusions, and hallucinations.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that is brought about by memories of an extremely stressful event or series of events that cause intense fear, particularly if feelings of helplessness accompanied the fear.

I hope this helps.
Thanks for this!

My sister suffers from the former, and is a sickness which has no cure and just gets worse with time. This has been of great tragedy in my family, my father said now he says he has a broken soul, so is very serious as a shot to the head. PTSD can on the other hand be treated with therapy, meds and a set of good habits (e.g exercise, no alcohol, and a good hobby). If you suffer from the former like my sister I am truly sorry, but these days you can take some advanced therapy that may erase part of your memory but still will allow you to live a dignified life, God bless you.

Are you asking what is the difference in terms of causation or symptomatic presentation?

I am asking in terms of what causes it.
Thanks for this!

PTSD is caused by traumatic experiences. Schizophrenia is a brain disease.

Stress can make them both worse.

Schizophrenia is incurable and you need meds. PTSD can be helped with a lot of therapy.

These are just general rules.

There is no one cause for schizophrenia. No one knows its causes.
