I have had untreated bipolar for a long time. I have been using cannabis for about 18 months as I cannot afford a doctor of psychiatry. It does not work well but it seems to keep the worst away and evens out my anxiety well.
So I had a major manic episode 18 months ago and nded up 180 miles from home believing that the police in the city i "came to" in wanted to kill me. I was given emergency psych meds that brought me down and sent home with a nice 5150 as a going away gift. So the depression started and lasted for over a year, not wanting to get up, wishing I could will myself out of existence and all of that horrible stuff. I get a doctor finally and he prescribes buproprion after the other one made the depression seem worse. The buproprion worked super well. I have not felt as happy for a long time and I was not even that happy on it. So I have a manic episode a few months later, last 10 days or so. Is it possible that the anti-depressant helped to push my mania from hypo to full blown? |
