It's recently come to my attention that when people talk to me (and also when they don't), I generally have a very blank expression and am seemingly bored or irritated by them or the conversation, even when on my end I could be intrigued. I wouldn't have thought much of it if it were just one person saying that but my sibling, partner and both parents have confirmed that I generally do have a blank expression. According to them, it often only changes when I am with my partner or talking about something I really enjoy. One interesting thing is that one of my parents said it started being very noticeable around 2 years ago, however I remember people often asking me if I was alright even before then so it must've actually been longer than that. Apparently this "runs in the family" as well. After a quick google, it seems that most of the time this is caused by problems with muscles, depression, schizophrenia or ASD.
Either way, I'd like to hear your opinions on my situation and on people who show little emotion on their face in general, and possibly also other things that might cause this. |

yea its hard to find info on this... this might help in my location when someone has what you posted its called lack of affect. its a symptom of many mental and physical health problems and even things like lack of sleep, poor diet and medications can cause it.
my suggestion is contact your or a treatment provider in your location. they will be able to tell you what this is with in you and what types of diet, meds and other things can help you with this problem. |

Meds cause a blank expression on my face, particularly antipsychotics when I've been on them in the past.
I also think part of it could just come down to disposition. I know people who are smiley all the time and others who simply aren't. |
