Does anyone know where I can go for inpatient help for anxiety and depression. I am a mother of a 25 year old son who is once again in substance abuse center. I am living with my boyfriend who is very verbally abusive. I am on disability and have not been able to work for years because of failed surgeries. I recently overdosed on my prescribed lamictal because dosage was too high. I am not well and need to go away. Can anyone suggest a place. I have Medicare and United Heathcare. Thank you. Lisa

Do you see a therapist? Also, if you have an abusive boyfriend, why are you still with him?

Start with whomever it is you see for your prescriptions. They may even be able to get the admission process started. If not, present yourself to an emergency room.

Because I can't work or support myself so I stay with my boyfriend. Have no where to go! I will try the ER. No I don't see psychologist. Hard to find one that takes Nedicare. My psychiatrist is the one who increased my Lamictal and I overdosed. Trying to recover from that. Thanks for caring. Just don't know of any of those places take my insurance. Thanks for caring. Lisa

Most places will take medicare, its your secondary insurance that is the one to work around. I'd start by contacting your insurance company to see what hospitals in your area accept your insurance.

You need to go to an ER in a hispital with a psych ward since it us a psych med you are having problems with. Not every hospital has a psych ward where you can get the kind of help you are looking for.

You actually should ask your own pdoc for a recommendation to inpatient hospitals. Most pdocs often have patients with hospital needs & he actually may have priveledges to treat in certain hospitals which helps with your coordination of care.
