Has anyone else experienced random urges to just hurt others. Like the other day I was having a good dat with my mom when out of nowhere i felt a strong urge to push her off the escalator. I sometimes see myself doing it then realize i didnt actually do it and i notice i start trembling and breathing heavily

Maybe the intrusive thought occurred because you felt you did not deserve a good day.

Hi, Welcome to PC.
Were you angry at your mom, or did you just feel a compulsion to push her? The motive of your thought about pushing your mom makes a big difference about why you would want to hurt her or someone else. |

You didn't say whether your relationship with your mother is a good or a bad one, in general.

Work with a Therapist, over time the feeling will go away. Anger towards one self comes from early childhood. You did not feel deserving when you were little. Probably because of little connection you had with with parents and family. Children often blame them self for being ignored. Please don't scalp your brother. You do not have to be on a war path.

I started having these urges when i was like 14 and it has grown worse over time. I have hurt a few old friends and my brother. Ive also hurt my mom before but it was just a slap so it wasn't that bad. But usually when i hurt anyone i really really didn't mean to do it. And i never thought i'd actually do it

I remember having similar urges towards people who hurt me when I was younger. With time it went away. I would suggest to watch your thoughts and feelings and keep them under check all the time, and if something bothers you, try to talk about it. Maybe these urges are accumulations of suppressed emotions and unexpressed anger towards others.
