Hello, I have just joined. I'm interested in mentalisation - how to learn more about it - and are there any online courses that teach it? Thanks.

Mentalisation sounds very intriguing. There's so much information about it online, and I'm sure there must be scads of books on the subject. There's this: http://www.apa.org/pubs/videos/4310961.aspx

I don't know if there are any online courses...maybe check Udemy.com

I see that you are in Australia here in america this is called visualization, meditation, self hypnosis and other words like cognitive behavioral therapy and DBT All of which are used here in America to help one become aware of their mental process's, physical behaviors and gain control over them, make changes where needed.

with visualization/ meditation a person finds a quiet place to calm down relax and focus their thoughts, sometimes with a direct goal or problem they want to work out, figure out whats going on inside their mind and body. my own treatment provider sometimes refers to it as thinking about thinking because I will find a quiet place calm and relax myself and then just let the thoughts come as they will, letting the images come as they will. sometimes I will find a place out in nature to sit and calm and relax and write out those thoughts and images that come while doing my meditations.
