I sometimes think I over analyze things I do or say as if all my choices are affected by my mental illness. I didn't choose the "good" setting instead of "better" or "best" at the car wash because I think I am undeserving; I did it because I am cheap! Sometimes the kids' music really is playing too loud. Maybe I am driving fast because I am running late and maybe someone else really did cause me to be running late. Etc, etc, etc...
But I keep looking at pretty much everything through the bipolar microscope.

I *know* I over analyze things because I have self-esteem issues and doubt myself a lot -- and ruminate and avoid and so on.
But yes, I think we all tend to get overwhelmed and deeply frustrated, and then tend to overlook that we are more than our "illness". It doesn't affect everything. Not everything has to be taken in that context. I know that, but thanks for the reminder. |
