Just wondering.
I'm fine with self compassion because that seems to be aimed at actions you do. That I can relate to. I don't think I've ever felt many emotions about myself, but I guess if you don't have much empathy outwards, it would work the same inwards? Sure there have been times I have been happy with myself of angry with myself, but I have no idea what self pity feels like. Is self pity dependent on feeling empathy? Whatcha saying?

Self pity is different than self pride. Thus self pity may be dependent on depression rather than empathy.

Good question. I don't know the answer to that. I am highly empathetic to others but don't think I am to myself. I am self compassionate sometimes.

People seem to feel that empathy and pity are two separate things. But since I simply can't do either of them, I do think they are connected. I never actually understood what self pity is. I mean what it is on a deeper level. I see people being self pitying but that is just me looking in.
At the same time, self pity seems to exclude empathy.
