English is a second language to me too and i feel so terrible that she made a mistake in english. Its so painful for me to be so close to anyone and i love my T for all that she has done for me and for being so empathetic and not charging me as i was in a terrible shape, had no money and insurance. English is her second language but she understands me without problems. What should i do?

May I ask what mistake she made? Even native speakers will make mistakes on occasion, that's just the nature of being human.

She used speaks instead of speak. She realized it but didnt correct it and proceeded to finish what she was saying.

You could tell her it bugs you. You could also use this as an opportunity to practice forgiveness for imperfections.

Be honest. I am sure you have informed her of your irritation at imperfections in general. Tell her this includes the manner in which people speak. Bring up this very instance with her as an example.
You are not alone. While my own grammar is less than perfect I cringe when other's mistakes are glaringly obvious. I jump to conclusions. Horrible of me. I am obsessed with it. |
