Hi, weird question. How can you tell if you hear/see a ghost or if it's a hallucination?

While I think that ghost stories are interesting, I have never personally seen a ghost and I doubt that ghosts are actually real. I think that a person can "believe" they see a ghost and that the fear they have contributes to thinking that a shadow of some kind may be a ghost. My older sister believes in ghosts and one night she was sitting in the TV room across from the stairs and suddenly screamed believing she saw a ghost coming down the stairs. Well, one night I was sitting and watching TV with my father and saw a light moving down the stairs too, HOWEVER, I could also see that all it was was the headlights shining in from a car coming down the road in front of our home.

The only way I would actually believe that ghosts do exist is if I actually got to see one for myself and that is something I have never actually witnessed.
Thanks for this!

One way to tell would be to have a psych evaluation for conditions causing hallucinations. And if you don't have any conditions, then it's a ghost, hah.
Thanks for this!

Everything that you sense is technically an imaginary translation of external stimulus. With of course the exception of previous experiences. In essence, there is no way to tell if you are hallucinating or not because your mind makes it all up anyway. Now if you suspect that you have a strong enough mind to project into the environment, then you need to study esoteric magic.

In any regard, always remember that you are ultimately in control of it. You may have to train yourself to exercise the muscles of conscious control but you have the ability to do it. (PS) Much of the world doesn't want you to know that.

One more thing. Real ghosts are afraid of blades.

well, just saying, not sure if the previous poster was jesting, but i disagree with everything said thereby. i have seen ghosts and even talked to them, when i was totally competent, and knew what they were. i have never hallucinated, even on acid. so, tho i'm no expert on ghosts, i do believe they are some kind of energy, perhaps leaking into our reality, and that might be true for hallucinations, also. perhaps it's your response to the perception that might provide the key ? or be the key to your answer.
