So I’m taking 30mgs Paxil and 50 Zoloft for depression and anxiety.(mostly anxiety) I feel pretty good mentally but all I want to do is sleep. Went to the doc this morning and he told me to try taking my meds at night instead of morning to try and help. Has anyone had any luck doing this?
Thanks. |

This is what my pdoc would always recommend too. It's certainly worthwhile to give it a try. However my experience was that it was really the over-all effect of being on antidepressants that caused my own "sluggishness". The time-of-day I took the medication didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference.

I'm on 250mg of Zoloft. It wipes me out so I take it at night. However I still have to take a stimulant in the morning because I'm tired. So I don't know if it matters for me.

Yes, if I were you I'd take your meds at night. That should help some with the sleepiness during the day. Like others have said, though, one of the problems with psych meds is that they usually cause people to be sleepy during the day. Sometimes that kind of levels off after you've been taking meds for a while but, in my experience the sleepiness remains somewhat of a problem. A cup of coffee in the morning can help some.
