Hello,
i can't find many new studies about boredom, certainly not from year 2017/2018. Which is weird given, boredom is raising, especially young people. I think maybe, because it is usually asociated with depression, so solely on boredom, you can't find that much. I have one question currently: i am bored to death literally, just sitting at computer and listening to music, i don't want to do anything. But time passes quickly for me for some, reason, even i am bored, especially in terms of hours, or whole day, it feels that it passed quickly and also months and years, because i was just sitting at computer and playing pc games and than only watch tv shows, because i had hand injury and i can't even watch tv show, i can't psychycaly endure it. I suffer from depresion and existential boredom and i read already 10k articles about it and there is nothing, which would interest me at all. Sometimes i get excited about some infomation, but not that it would interest me, that much, or change anything about my world view. Don't know why is that. SO to my question, i am just curious why time passes quickly for me even i feel bored to death literaly and my head hurts from boredom, it is very specific feeling when i get bored, so i know it is from boredom. |

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question. The only thing I can say is that, based on my own experience, when I am on the computer (or watching TV) time tends to pass quickly for me. Beyond that the only thing I can say is that perhaps your inability to find interest in anything is a symptom of your depression. This may be something that would be worth looking into with the help of a mental health professional... perhaps a counselor or therapist, if you're not already seeing someone. My best wishes to you though...

I do agree in not finding anything recent regarding boredom. I like this blog about it as a means for moving beyond the comfortzone of boredom.
https://psychcentral.com/blog/boredo...to-new-growth/ Maybe the time lapse/passing quickly is a combination of the boredom and depression And the hand injury? I believe that pain can literally play a role in and of itself. |

I can realate to this. I’ve posted about boredom on here several times. Time does pass quite quickly for me at times during this boredom as well. I think my boredom is strongly linked to depression since almost everything sounds boring to me.

I'm glad someone brought this up . Time has been passing quickly in these recent seven years for me , and ln my head all these years can be summarized in maybe just one year . Been wondering a lot about the reason why and my assumption is that since during this times i haven't been doing anything remarkable , the time passed seems to be meaningless. As if there's no landmark to remind me of what that time contained . Yet i do find it weird that i can spend hours and hours feeling bored and doing nothing .
