I'm just wondering if anyone has done their second review for Disability? I've done my first one three years after I gained it. However, the paperwork showing that it would continue didn't say anything about when I would be up for review again.

Will it just be a random review? I'm wanting to be prepared for it as best I can.

Thanks all.

reviews with SSDI happen every 3 years for how ever long you are on SSDI. its standard and normal. in other words you do this one then in three years you will do another and in three more years you will do another and so on for how ever long you are SSDI...

if you go to the social security website it will explain this...

Oh! Thank you for sharing this. I couldn't find anything on the Social Security site about when I would be up for a second review. I didn't know they had a blog lol. Thanks so much. Blessings

They sent me the paperwork for the review. I never sent it back. They sent me a letter saying I was fine for three more years. Interesting how that worked.

Ya know...

...I had the first review — shrink and cardiologist — but no subsequent reviews (maybe because of the loss of my legs, maybe because I’ve a plethora of shrinks who can testify to my insanity).

I do get one of those ‘any other income’ forms annually and I have a Medicaid review but nothing from the feds!

Good luck.

I’m gonna look at that post — in the 16-years that I’ve been receiving SSDI, I’ve only had a single review; the first that determined my eligibility. Maybe SSA has access to mental/physical health records?

I dunno.

Thanks! Yeah, in your case it may be that you're very unlikely to recover. Those reviews they do every 7 years I think. Or, maybe not at all!

It is so very unlikely to believe that I will ever recover that even a 7-year review would have been a frivolous financial folly.

Ah okay, yeah I saw that you haven't been reviewed in years. That could be why.

I went through a 3 year review & it was determined to be a permanent condition because I was still so messed up. I left my H & moved across the country. I got notice of a review after moving but reminded them it has deemed permanent. I am now 65 & disability automatically changed to social secutity.....no reviews required for that.....so I only went through 1 in all those years.

I'm not deemed to be permanently disabled, so I'm just trying to prepare for the possibility that I could be taken off. Better safe than sorry!

I think my mental health team figured it was better on me to be determined permanently disabled. They all knew I could never go back to my high functioning computer engineering career & if I could end up working it would be wuthin the amount that was acceptable over the SSDI.

I was never did work again because of the migraines I ended up having & the meds I was on for that even after the mental health issues were mostly resolved.

Hi. It's a 2 part review. If first part doesn't think it needs a medical review it doesn't go on to second. But SSA paperwork is confusing so read that letter carefully. It actually may say you past the first part of the review and you may still be under medical review which usually lasts a couple of months more.
