This thread is a continuation of discussion about low carb and keto started in thread Meat grosses me out. Feel free to share your experiences with this lifestyle. Is vegetarian low carb possible?
Quote:
Yes, I have dinner at 5.30- 6 pm and breakfast at 8, so that's quite a long period of fasting. It's not on purpose, just how my day is organized ![]() I don't want to be keto also because I simply like eating fruit, baking my sourdough bread, potatoes, legumes and pasta from time to time. Keto seems a little too extreme when one wants to lead a relaxed lifestyle and eat with family etc... In me it would create diet mentality where I would crave forbidden food and I would be stressed by "I want to eat this but I'm not allowed to". I suffered like that during my numerous low fat diets, don't want that anymore. Low carb seems like a healthy compromise to me. I'm not a vegetarian, but I used to be for 3 years and recently I've been thinking about decreasing my meat consumption for ethical reasons.I don't think I'll become a vegetarian soon but I will definitely try more vegetarian low carb and see what happens ![]() Although exotic fruit and nuts are ecologically bad, too, some are worse than ethically produced meat from small local farms. I tend to think in terms of local/trustworthy source rather than meat-vegan. Fortunately, I live in Europe where animal welfare laws are a little better than in the US. Anyway, I'm going to eat more vegetables ![]()
