When someone is struggling with mental illness there is a lot of "insecurity" and "fear" in them. So with that a person may make multiple threads in an attempt to reach out for help and guidance to better deal with their fears. Also, it's not unusual for someone to get stuck in "fight/flight" where they feel fear and then switch to anger.

Mental illnesses can most definitely get crippling for people to a point where they feel lost and even isolate themselves. We are constantly studying the brain and how to help those who struggle with mental illnesses in hopes to find ways to help them live their lives without the constant challenge with whatever their mental illness happens to be.

I have also noticed it's been quieter. I know of a couple of people, or more, who are unable to log in because of ''personal issues''...

I don't think it has anything to do with anyone ''flooding'' the forums with the same posts. (with different titles). Some people left a while ago because .... I will not divulge personal information.

It really is quiet here... I am hopeful that any ''negative'' posts in this thread do not deter people from posting. This is, in general, a supportive place

I've never warmed up to this site. I like talking to SA and AvPD people, but those sections are not that active. There used to be a couple of good forums for those but they are either gone or much deader than this place.

One thing that has always been the case to some extent, but that seems to be becoming even more prevalent lately, is that new members post one thread (often in the New Member Introductions forum) but then I, at least, never see anything more from them again. I don't know if any of them show up in Chat (because I don't chat.) But perhaps they read other members' threads & reply? And maybe they take some of the quizzes & tests?

I agree, I have also noticed this. I do not think this is the ''fault'' of any member (or mod or admin here) here Each person has free will, and are not easy for us to ''control'' Personally, I do not bother to try I would enjoy it if those who observe silently, were able to participate more fully. This is a supportive place, and I hope nothing changes that

I think someone may have mentioned members who ''repeat'' themselves. There are certain topics I do NOT enjoy reading. I try to avoid those places... Topics which are not enjoyable to someone, or posters they do not enjoy, can usually be avoided, including using ''ignore'' if necessary. I am sure everyone knows this already I haven't noticed some of the things described in this thread. I try to focus on me rather than examining others through a microscope. I try not to judge since I have not walked with them...

For those who mentioned inappropriate or arguing threads. I'd encourage you to report those. Admins and mods do a good job of tending to us, but they can't be everywhere all the time.

Skeezyks, I would miss you.

I would miss Skeezyks too! I think everyone here would

Thank you for your wisdom, I feel the same way

(how could it be a member's ''fault'' for posting the ''wrong way''.... surely those are lies we have been told ''too often'' irl including as cubs I very much doubt if any ''member'' here is powerful enough to deter a whole community from posting

Respect and love to all Sentient beings

I know for me, I have never been busier in my life since coming to PC. I like to put together thoughtful replies that touch on different aspects of what has been said & I just don't have the time to do that any more. I have come a long way since first starting here in 2004 (16 years ago Oct 10) & guess even after all I went through from 1994 till now, I am finding it harder to relate on this forum. My interests & activities & my farm have taken me in a much different direction now though I do check in once in awhile since PC has been home for me for so long I just don't have the time to spend here that I once did.

Everything I have been seeing would suggest that traffic here should be skyrocketing. It could be that people are having mental health problems for the first time in their lives and havenÂ’t made it to forums like this yet. That doesnÂ’t explain why longtime members would go silent. My own history on here is pretty erratic. I post often then it may be months before I even log in again. I maybe feeling pretty good or just donÂ’t know how to articulate what exactly I am feeling and thinking. Maybe people have found others they can relate to for the first time and donÂ’t really need to turn to the internet for people they can relate to.

I try not to think in terms of ''shoulds''

From my perspective, a couple of long term members are missing

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
