It seems like hardly anyone post or responds to threads on here anymore.

Why is that? Did people on this thread leave & go somewhere else?

Why did a lot of people leave this site? I noticed that it has gone downhill over the last few years.

People started becoming judgmental & critical I noticed here & there instead of being supportive sometimes.

I am not sure why people left @jesyka - for me I missed when it was called "PsychCentral" - I think people just moved on and found other outlets, or went back to their own social media. There could be a lot of reasons.

I think forums generally aren’t as popular as they were, also as we’re no longer part of psych central we don’t get the traffic that way.

Honestly, you can’t really call people are judgmental and critical and then wonder where did people go.

Didn’t PsychCentral get taken over by mysupportforums completely?

Psych Central still exists with articles etc like before but the forums went over to My Support Forums, that’s my understanding of it.
Thanks for this!

for those who are new or dont remember -

back in around 2020 doc john sold a portion of psych central. he decided to keep the forums section. in order to do that he gave the forums a whole new name. no one took over these community forum boards everyone is posting in.

I think of it like a department store or medical building. you have many departments and sometimes departments on the same building move on to other things. sometimes that means merging with other companies and changes in department names.

the educational department of psych central is merged with Healthline and the community posting department is now separate and called my support forums.

for more information heres a link to doc johns post from 2020 when the merging and name changes happened. Healthline acquires Psych Central

Editting to add a second link -

a thread where Doc John posted about separating the forums from the educational department and other changes that happened back then.

this thread is also from 2020 where doc john and healthline agreed that the forums can remain with Doc John.

Important! The next chapter for the Psych Central Forums

not sure what you mean.

if you mean the weekly chats doc john did only he can answer to that.

if you mean the chat rooms at the top of the page

as far as I know they are still there, at least the option is still listed at the top of the page in the menu bars.

I just clicked on whos in chat and it says zero, so at the moment of my typing this no one is in the chat rooms.

whether the chat rooms are still active or not I'd have to say your guess is as good as mine.

check with doc john or one of the moderators. they will probably know more than I do about the chats and chat rooms.
