Question:

Which sportsman (male or female) was the most superior to their nearest rival?

1 example would be Usain Bolt, who leaves his competitors in his dust.

But I'm sure there are others who were even further ahead of their 'rivals'.

Discuss.
Thanks for this!

Michael Jordon: is still widely considered to be the greatest basketball player in history (despite being an a-hole that the hall of fame induction)

LeBron James: the next Michael Jordon

Tiger Woods: Woods is only in his early thirties but only the Legendary Jack Nicolas has more tournement wins under his belt, a record Tiger will likely surpass in a few years, to become the undisputed greatest golfer ever.

Michael Schumacher: Still considered by many to be the best formula one driver ever.

Roger Federer: Mr. Tennis

Micheal Phelps: Only swordfish swim faster...

I thought I would throw in a funny one

Ric Flair "wrasslin" is not a real sport, but his accomplishments over nearly 40 years in mulitple federations is unequaled there will never be another.

I think Sir Donald Bradman is the most dominant sportsman of all time. In that he is so far ahead of 2nd best, it's not funny. If anyone can show me an example of a player who is even more dominant at his sport, I'd like to hear of him/her.

Bradman was a cricket player, in the side as a batsman.

Averaged 99.94 with the bat.

The next highest is 60.97.

The best batsman in the world average somewhere in the 50s.
