I remain indoors mostly, anyhow. Keep the wood stove blazin and the water bed turned up....lol....comfies.

I hate the cold!! I miss Cali.

Tonight and tomorrow we're expecting that horrid storm from the central coming on us. Calling for 5-9 inches before it turns to sleet and freezing rain, then possible rain. Ugggh I hate those kinds of storms. I'm old and shoveling doesn't come easy these days. Not looking forward to this one at all.

But......it gives me the day to play on the puter since I get to stay home with the individual I care for. So, computer and baking and movies are on the agenda for tonight and tomorrow! WooooooooooHooooooooooo!!!
I hate cold, but I'd rather be cold than too HOT! I'm old, and I can't imagine shoveling snow as I have stiff joints in the morning as it is. LOL

Baking, movies, and computer time sound like perfect cold weather activities to me! But even though yesterday I did some baking, it didn't help warm up the place much. It was just that cold.

Snowing and above Zero Temps; suppose to warm up in the Teens, then later in low 20s.

Snow in Texas 2 days ago, followed by leaves and pecans everywhere in my yard! Anyone living near Big Spring, is welcome to come pick some up! BYOB [bring your own bag]. If no one answers the phone or door, feel free to pick away anyway. I have invited so many people to do this, that I expect to look out the window to see derrieres in the air at any given moment! ~ billieJ

Snowed a couple days ago, but only about an inch so it didn't last. Now raining like crazy, but husband has a cold so we are sitting in front of the fire & that is nice.

However, we will be in AZ for Christmas & kids coming (grown) from San Antonio, TX, Seattle & S.F. (where we are from originally). Miss Calif. (S.F. Bay Area--we were in the East Bay--so it was a lot warmer than S.F. & blue skies & warmer temps.).

But AZ warmth & sunshine helps my mood so much!

Today it 69 degrees. I am wearing shorts today. This past week has been nothing but rain. Yesterday I got so hot I had to turn on the air.

Up in MI, we got about 3 inches of snow today, and most of the schools in my county were closed since we had icy rain on the roads.

My mother was from N.Z. My husband & I (high school sweet hearts) went to N.Z. for a month in Dec when we were teenagers; traveling to see relatives & camping & staying at guest cottages. It was great.

Unfortunately, my mother passed away when I was 15 so have lost contact w/my relatives there...

HOLY CRAP!!! It's 11:30 PM and its 16 degrees F outside!!!

Last night, by 2am it had dropped down to 12 degrees F. I think we will break last nights record low tonight.

I am blessed to have a roof and walls with good heating. My heart bleeds for those out in the cold tonight....without shelter or heat.

Portland has set up many warmth shelters and I thought I heard them say that the buses and Maxx trains were offering free rides for those in need of shelter to get to the warmth shelters.

Time for warm jammies, snuggly blankets, and hot tea!!

Hopefully getting some "measurable" rain this weekend since that "big storm" predicted for last Monday did not pan out. The rain is a nice change, as I was getting tired of so much dry, hot weather.

It was cold FOR US, (30's-'40's at night, 50's during the day) most of this week, but the rain has "warmed it up" a bit to nearly 60 during the day and upper 40's-low 50's at night. After this weekend, it is supposed to dry out and be mild for a few days.

Until then, it's hats and gloves, 2 pairs of socks, long johns, and a long coat!
Thanks for this!

Upper 70's, windy, sunny, and low humidity. And the "official" start of winter is only 3 days away.

I think it is around 20 degrees, a nice increase from the 0 to 4 degrees of the last few days. It snowed about two weeks ago so we have a nice covering of snow for the holidays. I'll be going to Iowa where they have even more snow that I have here, even though I'm farther north.
Thanks for this!

It just started snowing 30 minutes ago, temp 26 degrees. We are in Winter Storm Watch mode. Estimated accumulation by the end of the storm (late Sat night, early Sun morn) is 18-24 inches. The ground is so cold every last bit of snow will stick.

I love love snow...........
