It just gets worse here! I believe we've had 18 or 19 days with temperatures above 100 along with extremely high humidity. The humidity is what makes it so brutal along with the fact that we have had maybe two days of rain in the past 4-5 weeks.

It's tough and it's desperately dangerous for people who have to work outside or don't have air-conditioned homes and animals (pets/livestock) that have to stay outdoors. The city has at least two dozen public areas open to the public from 6:00 A.M. till 8:00 P.M. that are air-conditioned, comfortably furnished, have free cold beverages, etc.

This is always the price we pay for our wonderfully enjoyable fall and spring seasons and the mildest winters but each summer seems to be getting hotter and lasting longer.

I am currently on holiday in Newcastle Upon Tyne, north-east England. It is almost always cloudy with a little (or maybe more than a little) rain on some days.

It's pretty hot here, I would always have to stay in the basement to cool off, or else it'd be too hot.

Picture perfect! I could live with this weather all year 'round.

Oh - and if I could figure out a way to send water down to the states dealing with drought - I would do so in a heartbeat.

Oh yuck, a dew point of 78?! It's hard to breathe at that point! Hope you have AC, CaretakerLeo

Actually, I'll have to check to see what our dew point is. Today it was so hot and muggy outside my sunglasses fogged up when I stepped out of the house. UGH.

Reminds me of that line from "I Am the Walrus": Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun / If the sun don't come you get a tan from standing in the English rain"
