I am thinking of changing my hair style. I've always had medium to long hair and am thinking of getting a cute little short hair cut with short layers but am not sure if it would suit me because I'm a little on the heavy side and have really fine hair. I've posted a picture below of what my hair looks like now and the second picture is the hair style I'm thinking of getting. Do you think that style would suit my face? (also my hair is lighter than the model's picture so it won't be the same colour as hers).

If I could get anyone's thoughts or advice that would be great! Thanks!

I think a short haircut would look great. I have long hair, but many times in my life I've cut it off really short like that and I always like it...of course, I always go back to long hair eventually...

Its a cute haircut though.
Thanks for this!

Totally Miss Amanda! You have similar shapes of faces......that haircut will really shine on you Go for it! Have you got a hairdryer and a roll brush? That will help get the fullness on the top of the haircut. I had shortish hair for a while and a hairdryer, roll brush and a good medium strength hairspray is the ticket Make sure you get the hairdresser to show you how to style it.....I have had many situations of getting my hair cut, only to find I can never get it the way the hairdresser did it when i get home.......my fault! wasn't watching!!

Have fun with it babe......

I think the model's hair style would suit you well also you might want to change your hair color as well.

I think it would look really nice Amanda. The layering will help give your hair some fullness along with a roll brush. Also as far as hair products go, if you can find a salon that carries Matrix Vavoom Products( I think Walmarts usually have salons that carry this) use those Or the Matrix Amplify ( if they still have them) I used to be a cosmetologist so I am trying to think of products that would help and not be too heavy on your hair lol. I have shorter hair and love it! Would never go back to long. Short hair is so much easier for me to take care of. Course I have thick hair too so that makes a big difference! Show us what you get!! I'm excited to see it now! Ohh and if its affordable for you, Highlighting also gives body, so you might consider that too!

Thanks everyone for your replies! I appreciate it!! I think I will go ahead and get that style I'm debating though whether or not I should also dye my hair a little bit of a darker brown.. do you think darker hair would suit my complextion? Or maybe I should just stick with the blonde and add blonde high lights? hmmm I can't decide! My natural colour is like a ash blonde/light brown. I put sun in it in the summer and it has made it stay blonde for all this time.. I didn't realize the sun in stuff was permanent! You can see the top of my head is starting to grow out my natural colour now.. maybe I should just dye it that colour?

I agree this haircut would look good on you. I think you should stick with as close to your natural color, otherwise you'll have to go for regular touch ups. If the colour looks too matt - they could do the base color your natural color with lighter blonde highlights. Good luck.

Ohh gosh don't use that stuff!! Very damaging to your hair! Might be wise to get as much of that cut off first! I think highlights would suite your hair better and complexion. Besides, blondes have more fun! LOL!!!!!1

Highlights, definitely. And here's a big important thing for those of us (yes, me too) who have fine hair. Have the stylist use texturizing shears. Those are the shears that look like they have big chunky teeth. What they do is texturize your hair. They cause your hair to lift itself without having to use a lot of texurizer product. Therefore, you get the lift without a lot of product in your hair. Make sure you leave the salon knowing exactly what the stylist did and that you feel confident that you can reproduce it yourself. Go for it, girl!

I have fine hair too and by having a shorter cut you don't drag down the hair and it has more poof. Lots of layers are not good for fine hair but the cut you showed was not extremely layered. I like having the front a bit shorter than the sides.

Color? Whatever you want. Probably better to avoid extreme changes in color though. My stylist has been putting bronze highlights in my hair for thirty years now. My natural color is brunette and I decided having highlights every six weeks was a bit much after one of my patient's family asked to speak to "that blonde nurse". LOL

If you do decide to dye your hair, why not try a reddish blonde? My natural hair color and skin tone is similar to yours, and my color looks natural when I get it died. Ask if your stylist uses ammonia-free dyes, they won't damage your hair

Yes! Go for it. That's a cute cut. It's fun, I think, to do something different every once in a while. I wish I had straight hair & I'd let mine grow out again!
