I'm from Southern New Jersey. I've lived here almost my entire life-minus the last year and a half where I lived in Orange County, New York.

Born and raised in Bay Area, California.
Moved to North-East Nevada throughout my 20's.
Traveled most western-central states.
Returned to Bay during my 30's-40's.

Now, oddly....back to North-East Nevada....and chances are very likely I'll move back to Cali again.
I'm NOT a cold climate gal.

Tonih~ don't be so sure that you have it the worst. I'm presently in a hick town, population maayyybee 1K, if lucky. Sidewalks roll up at 6, (except for the casinos, and cat houses, of course...but NOT interested...lol).

Big Spring, Texas, named for a big spring around which one of our parks is. West Texas is a desolate spot, so Big Spring is something of an oasis. We have 2 small mountains/hills [actually, I think we are just in a canyon] and several trees. Most of them are in my yard, shedding leaves and pecans by the crane bucket full.

I live about 2 hours north of Toronto in the country.
Amanda, we used to live in Chatham (70 miles from you) and our kids were born there.
Miss the balmy temperatures!

I am from Boise, but have lived in California, Ireland and France for extended period of times. Ideally I want to move back to northern California but their budget cut backs for people with disabilities has been severe so my roommate and I have been looking into Albequerque, NM as the save all sunny place to go, that doesn't get too hot because it's got a bit of an elevation. People have told me to move to Washington state because of their great mental health care system but I have never been a big fan of rain and have been to Seattly many a times and even know the downtown area pretty well, especially that little purple elefant that advertises the downtown car wash. I don't know if anyone else has been there and seen that. That's my locator position when I am there.

Born in Fresno, California and now live in the tiny village Ingelstad in the middle of Sweden's "black belt" so named for the historical burden of poverty and illiteracy that once held sway here. Sometimes, I'm not so sure that they're gone....

I live in Chisago City, Minnesota, USA. It is about 25 minutes northeast of the Twin Cities. And no, it is not a very exciting place to live, but it's home now.
