Are you kidding? You can get into a whole mess of trouble on a train...first you can watch the scenery, talk to different people on the train, bug the conductor, check out the engine...

Oooh...
1) Bring a deck of cards for Solitaire and matching games. ![]() 2) Bring a portable CD player/MP3 player for good music...or go retro and take an old cassette walkman...but don't get to retro...record players are bulky and hard to carry!! ![]() 3) Get some of those invisible ink books for kids, the ones that have games and trivia in them. Those are always fun. ![]() 4) If you have a hobby like sewing, needlepoint, crocheting (sp?) then these would be good as well. ![]() 5) Get some crayons and some coloring books/art pads and let out the kid in you. ![]() 6) Sleep ![]() 7) Get a train conducter uniform, change into it 20 minutes into the trip, then walk the train and ask everyone to see their tickets. ![]() 8) Buy some flamboyantly colored water squirters and walk the train telling people to "Stick 'em up!!", and to hand over their wallets. ![]() 9) Get your whole train car going in 3 part rounding of "I've been working on the Railroad". ![]() 10) Every 5 minutes...or more randomly...just sit in your seat, start rocking back and forth and yell "Chugga Chugga Chugga Chugga Choo Choo!!" while motioning like you're tooting the train whistle!! ![]() Hmmmmmm.....No wonder my parents never took me anywhere!! ![]() Enjoy your trip!!! ![]()

put the invisible ink in the
colored water squirters and walk the train telling people to "Stick 'em up!!", and to hand over their wallets. But don't forget to wear kerchiefs over your faces, tied in the back.

You guys are so bad...that will cause so much trouble! But it sounds fun as long as Homeland Security doesn't show up.

I love travelling by train. The rocking motion of the train and they rythmic clacking of the wheels on the track lull me into a wonderful relaxed state.
I like to spend time in the lounge car, have a soda and talk to people. "Where are you from?" and "Where are you heading?" can begin some fun and interesting conversations! Many good suggestions above. A good book or magazines, music, journal to write the thoughts that come to mind during the trip, hand held video game. The trip may be more entertaining than you might be imagining and boredom may not even be a factor. ![]() |

Hey...completely off topic, but I love your username. How do you pronounce it? I was thinking it was bree-AH-nee, but then I thought it could be Bryon Y, or even BREE-a-nee.
Not really important I guess, but just curious... ![]()

You recieved some great ideas and some funny ones thanks to 'little trouble maker' Elysium LOL. Personally I love Nintendo DS and I like Mario Bros and Brain Age1. Are you travelling by yourself? Bring an interesting book, portable DVD player.
