today i recieved yet another dodgy email with a viruus attached, i notified the legitmite company to let them know that there name was being used,

virus ppl are trying to be smart and sending out lots of diferant emails, one to watch out for is one from dhl asking you to download a file with all the details of a parcel that needs to be collected be warned they are trying to strike when ppl are expecting parcels

the file that gets downloaded went through my virus scanner and said it was safe but it wasnt i knew it was not real i wanted to double check before reporting it, i have now cleaned it of my computer

I love this kind of message -- because I have no Facebook account...

I had four "paypal" action required e-mails this morning. All on my e-mail that is not associated with my paypal account. The scammers and virus senders are hitting package carriers and paypal this season. I have gotten the ones about DHL, Fed Ex and UPS plus the paypal trash today.
Be careful what you click on. Remember that paypal always uses your user name and not "paypal user" in any letters.

Thanks for the warning Katheryn - my computer had a bad virus a month ago. It kept sending me an 'update your security notice' and when I clicked 'no' it would open a new tab and sending me to porn sites. I was thinking if they want to torture most people, they should send us to a 'sesame street site' LOL. I kind of an innocent person and might fall for those sneaking emails - thanks for the info.

Katheryn, I was not trying to make fun of you. "Dodgy" is not a term that we use much over here, but I think we do understand it. It is just that whenever I saw the title of the thread I first read it as doggy emails, and someone else thought so too, so I tried to poke a little fun. Not at you.

In any case, I use a Macintosh, so am not very subject to viruses of the computer kind...

When my computer had the virus, I would be on PC and the 'update your security' came up and then open a new tab - this would happen every 30 seconds. There I was writing this intense post, then everything would stop and bam a new tab opens to a porn site. It was extremely frustrating and I had to take it to be professionally fixed.
