I have a set of Sesame Street Show 25th Anniversary DVD's with guest stars like Harry Belafonte and Linda Ronstadt, George Burns, John Denver, Steve, Martin.....they are hilarious.
In the introductions, Brian Henson, Jim Henson's son, always talks a little bit about what it was like to produce the Muppets. One time he said the hardest part about comedy is to get into a bit and then get stuck, not knowing how to get out. He said the key to his father's comic genius was he figured out the answer. Here are the three things you do to get out of a comedy bit that has no "out": 1. Blow something up. 2. Have one character (like Steetums) eat someone else. 3. Have everyone throw penguins into the air.
