Was wondering what are some of everyone's favourite quotes? (both serious and funny ones )

Here are some of the serious/inspirational quotes I like:

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away."

"Don't frown because you never know who is falling in love with your smile."

"Yesterday is history. Tommorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift that's why they call it the present."

"If everyone took an eye for an eye, then the whole world would be blind"

"Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live like it's heaven on Earth."
Mark Twain

And now for some of the funny quotes I like:

"A wise man never plays leap frog with a unicorn"

"If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you"

"a smile is a sign of joy, a hug is a sign of love, a laugh is a sign of happiness and a friend like me...well...that's a sign of good taste. ;-)

"Face it.. some days you're the pigeon.. other days you're the statue"

And I know this technically isn't a famous quote, but this one line from Jerry Seinfeld's comedy act always cracks me up! I don't remember exactly if this is correct word for word, but it went something like this:

"What is it with all these laundry detergent commercials.. they say they'll get out all your stains.. grass stains, wine stains and blood stains even. I'm sorry, but if my shirt is covered in blood, I don't think that laundry is going to be my biggest concern right now!" LOL love it!

Anyone else have any good quotes they want to share?

wanted to add this one because it made me chuckle..

"I can please only one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow isn't looking good, either."

I love the quote in my signature "Failure is not an option, it's a choice" I got this quote at my weight loss group. Now, if only I could begin to learn from it...........

"I'd have to say they're all good - I've been in my foxhole so long, I've forgotten who to shoot" -- ME.

Don't worry though - I'm unarmed. Anybody got a spoon? What about a light?

Hmm...buddy can you spare a dime - and how exactly is that done?

Gee, car guy - I'd prefer water....just in case you have to get up and try that marathon again, only harder. How many hours can YOU run on one can of beer? Me? I can't even make it out the door - guess that's why my husband married me. I'm a cheap date.

Thanks everyone for sharing these great quotes. I love quotes and keep a journal filled with them for inspiration. Here are 2 I cam across recently.

"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."
-Oliver Goldsmith

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Leo Buscaglia

My favorite...

"It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone."

I keep several files with different quotes and other messages I like. The latest one I've added is by Allen Lee Harris:

"The wonder is not that there is so much darkness; the wonder is that there is any light at all."

Here's a couple more of my favorites:

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be measured by the way in which its animals are treated." - Mahatma Gandhi

"Perhaps it is better to be irresponsible and right, than to be responsible and wrong." - Winston Churchill
