I am trying to find inspiration to get something that will occupy my idle hours.

Please share your hobbies with me.

Sewing and reading at the moment. But, Monday I start a six week (twice a week) aerobics class and the following Monday, I start a nutrition class, so my new hobby is getting as healthy as I can be.

I've decided I sit too much in front of the TV, though I usually enjoy it.

I used to watercolor paint and still would like to do more of that, and will someday. Most of the things I do or did, are 'by my self things and sit down activities, so I need to be moving more and getting out with other people.

Hope you find an inspiration Sabina! Life for me is boring when I'm in that same place.

Gardening and kayaking in warm weather toooooo.

Reading, kniting, playing my harp, and in the summer gardenning on my balcony.

Kniting is great, I learned how to knit when I was in the psych hospital, and it kept me sane during the year I was unemployed recovering from depression and addiction - that year all my friends and family got scarves for Christmas.

I used to paint all my sweatshirts and t-shirts...Now should bleach splatter on a shirt I just paint flowers or whatever over the spot..... I don't know how I splatter so much bleach, but it seems all my shirts have a sparkly flower or star either on the sleeve or plastered across the front. So I guess my hobby is painting t-shirts...

Poetry, Painting and Photography.

Does Shopping count as a hobby?? Because I'm pretty good at that, too. =)

I used to LOVE gardening, but it's not really possible in the city. I still keep small potted plants around the house. I think bulb flowers are really magical, they totally fascinate me. So much so, that my husband and I once considered buying a 100 year old house on 6 acres in the middle of missouri to start a lily farm. Instead, I grew 200 potted lilies in my back yard, that ended up moving cross-country with us, and found a permanent home in my parents yard. =)

I've tried scrap-booking, knitting, sewing, and many other hobbies over the years, but I'm not good at sticking to things for the most part. I made a lot of little dresses and shirts for my dogs once, lol. That was fun! (for me) hehehe

Gosh, you all have so many hobbies. How inspiring. Mine, when I actually do them are singing and reading. I read more than I sing these days. (I sing light opera). I have tried scrap-booking, but it really is a moment in time sort of thing and had to really grab the mood. I would tend to my garden but I kind of hate gardening. Such a chore.

Thank you all for sharing. Keep them coming - I need the inspiration!!

I dunno if this really counts as a hobby, but I spend a lot of time on things like Wikipedia reading about things that catch my interest- It kills some time at least, but careful with it, sometimes that lost time sneaks up on you later haha.

Other than that I like to sketch stuff, play guitar, read (Though I have to be in the right frame of mind and have a large block of time), cycling and mountain biking, skateboarding (not so much anymore), tweaking electronics, and worrying about stupid stuff; (Not the best hobby though, so take heed.).

I find that fascinating, Sabrina. I am a singer, too. Or used to be , anyway. And opera is something i've never done. I believe one either has an appreciation for it or doesn't. I like listening to it but do not have the voice for it. But I could listen to Pavarotti all day. As far as I'm concerned, there was only ONE tenor, not three. His voice had this quality that is indescribable, it's like going to a symphony, but there are no other instruments playing along.

As far as my hobbies, I would be embarrased to list them, as I have so many that I have not time to indulge in them all. My favorite is needlework. I like the intricacies....I do counted cross stitch, needlepoint, embroidroidery, crewel, a little crochet but don't give me knitting needles because I get so frustrated they would become harry-carry weapons very quickly. Once I took tatting classes and loved it. But promptly walked out the door and forgot it all. It's basically knots but I don't have the eyesight or patience for that anymore. I am a sewer (pronounced 'sew-er' ) and am learning to make hats and purses. I would like to learn millinary. It's very complicated.

I also love woodworking and tiling. I am going to tile our basement floor next winter. I have a wet saw and did install the back splash in our kitchen when we remodeled. I love that type of stuff, too.

So, my hobbies run the gammit but I find I'm being limited by my ability to get down on the floor with this bad hip, leg and knee (titanium).

I never was afraid to try anything once. There are lots of things I'll never do again. Like re-cover a septic tank for one!!!!
