Ok. I have a dilemma. I have a 3.5 year old son that needs his tonsils out. We found a top ENT surgeon that can do it, but he only operates out of the same hospital that butchered me who I now have a lawsuit against. My dilemma is do I put the hospital out of my mind and just consider that it was the surgeon that butchered me, and I'm not using that surgeon or should I look elsewhere for a different hospital. The ENT guy only operates out of this hospital and we live in a rural area so I don't have many choices of ENT doctors. My lawyers don't see it being a problem with regards to having a lawsuit against them and still using this hospital. If I go ahead and use the same hospital, how can I get through that surgery day of his tonsils coming out without driving myself crazy that something bad may happen. Any comforting words would be very welcome, I'm driving myself nuts over here.

Is it a state funded hospital or a private hospital?? State hospitals have to take you no matter what.. Private hospitals can refuse services.. As far as surguins go .. I had back surgery done at the same hospital that killed my grandmother..I had no problems..

If your lawyer doesn't feel that it will upset the law suit you have against the hospital and you trust the ENT in question I would go ahead with the surgery so your son may have some relief.... remember we cant blame a whole for the actions of one.

Thank you both for your wise and helpful insights. You both posted really good encouraging posts. i think I'll go ahead and get the surgery done for him, I gave birth to my two boys at this hospital, it was a wonderful experience then.

Trust your instincts. You did, afterall, say that it wasn't the hospital, but the surgeon that was at fault. I am sure your son will be in good hands. Hope it all turns out well for you.
