My new couch gets delivered today and I am so friggin' excited!! For those of you that don't know, my husband and I recently went through a "let's live off the land and be hippies stage", which roughly translated into him being unemployed for several months and our living in a 30 year old trailer in the forest with no ac or heat and a canal in the back yard. The land was gorgeous, and granted we were still WORLDS better off than millions and millions of people all over the world, but it was really difficult not knowing when or if I was going to step through the floor or when I'd wake up with a scorpion on my face. Especially being pregnant!!

Needless to say we didn't have any furniture either. Although when I was really pregnant my mom brought over some camping chairs, you know the kind with the cup holders.

So. For the first time in our adult lives, our marriage, etc. We are actually in a position to furnish our apartment, and are no longer so anti-establishment that we want to continue sitting Indian style on the floor rambling about the state of the world. We can now sit on a couch and grumble!!!

I think it's important to keep in perspective that stuff is just stuff. But after trying to live our lives denouncing earthly possessions to achieve "enlightenment", I've realized that I'm much saner with flower print rugs and no scorpions on my soul.

We may even get a TV!

Yay for couches!!! and congrats to you for being able to sit Indian style on the floor like that for all these years! I upper back problems, so after about an hour of sitting indian style on a floor with no upper back support I get muscles spasms.

and double yay for no scorpions! I"m sure the couch will go nicely with that lovely flower print rug

The couch has the added bonus of being available in the event an itinerant therapist should happen to find your encampment.
Thanks for this!

lol. I doubt they do much wandering round these parts. Besides, therapists seem to have a doppler like, spidey sense aversion to me. I'm like kryptonite to their Clark Kent. I'm a T eater.

Yeah, it comes in three pieces and the sides apparently "clamp" right on, according to the description. The reviews were good so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and waiting impatiently.
