Simple question: What reasons do you have to go to college?
I have two reasons myself. One of them is because I like to learn about things, especially in literature. Another thing is that I want to meet people with similar interests and hopefully find my special someone while I'm doing all of this.

I finished college at age 40 because I wanted my degree. My brother-in-law who turns 50 next week has just announced he has enrolled in a two year college to get a degree in engineering. He said he is tired of him and my sister always being in a financial tight.

I've had my fair share of post secondary education - I have my masters. At this point I would sort of like to go back to school though. I'd like to get my PhD, partly because I like learning for the sake of learning. I'm also bored at work, and would like the intellectual challenge. However, I'm not willing to give up my lifestyle to be a student again, and realistically I'd make a lot less as a new academic than I do now. Part of me thinks I'd also like to go back and do another BA but in a totally different area, purely for interests sake - maybe I will when I retire. In the meantime, I continue to take continuing education courses, both for general interest and to improve my marketability in the job market. Right now I'm taking a pharmacology course (general interest) and in the fall I'll probably enroll in a tax diploma program.

I decided to go to college because I want a better life, and to pursue my passion for knowledge and learning.
I love to learn, I study things on my free time if they interest me, it was just natural I took the next step after high school and enrolled in college, and I want a better life, I want out of my home town, a college degree is my ticket out of there, and to having the life I want. oh and about meeting the signifcant other, did you know they call college the marriage grounds? We had a highly interesting discussion on it in my sociology class. |

I want to go to college because I believe that people who have a solid education are the people who have the oppertunity and freedom to do what they they have a passion for.

I went to college because I wanted to be challenged. I wanted to learn more about topics that were not covered in my prior education. I wanted to be able to get a better job. And it was expected of me by my parents.

Well to get a better education/job. I want to go to the Naval Academy so I'm trying sooo hard to get good grades in school right now. Also because my Mom didn't go to college and she says that she regrets it because if she did go to college she could of gotten a better job than she has right now.

I'd love to go for many reasons. Acquisition of knowledge, the social elements (friendship/romantic), to reinforce my belief in myself. Ultimately I guess to get a good fulfilling job. But, I can't afford it

1. To learn
2. To prove I know what I already know 3. To move forward in my life 4. To improve my already frayed social life

For the love of learning and knowledge, to get a better job I can enjoy, and in the end, for the freedom to do more of the things I'd like to be doing.
