So, my moms been bugging me about when I'm going to start my career. It's really quite annoying. I know all and every advice known to man that you could say. Yes, I've founf myself. I know who I am and what my passion is and what my passions are. That's the problem, I love music. I love to sing. I love to cook, I love to write, I'm good at painting nails and doing makeups. I'm great when it comes to working with kids and the elderly. I have a passion to help make the world a more green place, better for our children and grandchildren. I'm a huge pacifist and would love to be an activist for peace. I would make a fantatic editor. I have much experience in the work world, making a great assistant, receptionist, etc. I love animals, I have experience taking care for a pet shelter and pet boarding place. I have retail experience(though not really a passion), I love to draw and would love to paint, even though I don't have much experience in that particular field. I was a bookworm growing up, I have a huge vocabulary and would love to write childrens bookd and/or romace noves or myteries novels. I love to write poetry. I just don't know how to incorporate all this in my life. I don't have one true passion. Whenever I think about it, I really could do many different things, including being a hairdresser as well. IT's just driving me crazy, so, I choose a mediocre existence for now, because I can't decide. So, whatever. I was thinkiing last night, I should become a beutician, but I also would like to become a cook. I would make a great teacher as well, seeing as I have a bad habit of 'teaching' friends and family things that they already know sometimes. Damn. Ok, lunch breaks almost over now, back to the grind. =(

You know, LabLover23, the whole project of a career may be a lot easier than you think. My parents were of the Great Depression generation. They didn't "choose" their career. You couldn't, back then. You took whatever job was available, and you followed that until another one came along, and before you knew it, you were established in a particular career that may or may not have been something you'd thought about before.
So though you may have many talents and interests, in today's job market the real issue is, okay, what kind of job can I get? Very few young people today have a real "choice" of their career. They just have to get out there and find a job. And keep looking. And maybe there will be a switch somewhere along the line. In a direction you may or may not have anticipated. Don't let a bad job market keep you from getting established. If you do, you may be living with your parents until you're fifty years old. Not a good idea. Take care! ![]() |
