What sort of career/s interest you and seem extremely awesome, but you'd never actually do?

For me, I have a bit of a list, but here's a few-

A singer (I'd really like to be an opera singer, a really powerful singer like Whitney Huston or Mariah Carey, or an alternative singer like the lead singer of The Audreys (they are an Australian band and aren't super famous so I guess most people here won't know who they are). I can keep deluding myself that it's ever gonna happen for me though, everybody can sing of course, some people just shouldn't.

A ghost hunter, except I'm terrified of just about everything and hypervigilent enough as it is, so perhaps not the best idea for me.

A model- not because I'm vain or want to, you know, be a model, but it's more the art that can be created with model photography. I'd do modeling like this-





But of course I can barely look in a mirror some days, let alone be a model!

A teacher- I want to be one of those awesome teachers that the students actually like and get along with. I'm terrified of public speaking though and not a very good people person.

I'd love to be an artist, except I don't have a ounce of drawing ability in my bones.

I also wouldn't mind being a singer - while I can play some instruments, it would be nice to be able to sing too and it would make forming bands easier.

An astronomer, except I'm rubbish with maths and physics - I've always enjoyed looking at the stars.

cosmologist - won't happen because I suck at math
studio musician (trumpet) - won't happen because I am good but not great
reality TV star - won't happen because after 4 consecutive days of wearing an audio mic for 12-14 hours/day I realize I can't poo with an audience

day care worker - there is a reason I only had one child!
dentist - ewww, well at least they make good money though

My absolute, 1000% list of dream jobs, were I well and able and everything, from 1-10, with one being the ultimate dream job:

10.Musician, probably singer, much like jewel.
9. Famous Rave Dj
8.Pediatrician/OBGYN
7.Member of Bridge Crew of the USS Enterprise(hey, we are dreaming right?), preferably Ship Counselor.
6. Horse Rescuer, Animal Shelter/Rescue & no kill/forever home shelter
5.Video Game Creator/Storywriter/TESTER!!!
4.Animal Therapist(working with abused animals) & Animal Assisted Therapy worker for children and adults of comprimised mental states(everything from down's syndrome to depression to autism, with a specific focus on autism and down's and troubled teens.)
3.National Geographic Photographer and or journalist/writer.
2. Global Volunteer for both Animal and Human crisis, third world countries, disaster releif, ect. I would go where i was needed at that time.
1. Zoologist specializing in Genetics and Husbandry of Endangered Species and the Building of Realistic Sanctuaries/wildlife parks where animals can live and flourish NATURALLY. I would endeavor to find a way for humans to enter the environment WITHOUT impacting it or the animals in any way - I am a huge fan of those tunnels that go underground and pop up encased in plastic or glass throughout environments. Because lets face it people - lions eat people, and polar bears can be very cranky, and some folks don't have enough common sense, and then we end up having human deaths AND animal deaths due to loose safety rules. Part of this job would also be hosting FREE seminars, conferences, Educational Vacation Safari's/Volunteer weeks.


I think it goes without saying that I would not turn down hundreds of millions of dollars either, but I'd probably use alot of it towards one of those endeavors.

Military(note that i realize military is needed and am grateful for those who are strong enough to help, I could never. Violence sickens me, and so does war, I would be throwing up in the corner in the middle of operations.

I'd love to be a professional harpist - except I don't have the self discipline to practice - that may change. I know I'll never be a professional orchestral harpist, but I could get good enough to play weddings, back ground music at events.

I'd like to be a politician and make policy except I know I'm too shy to ever handle the campaigning.

Jobs I'd hate - anything mindnumbingly repetitve.

I have always wanted to be a funeral director, to take care of the dead loved ones of people is a dream that I have always wanted.

However at 43 I doubt it will happen.

-I'd love to be a singer, much like Dolores O'Riordan. I envy that woman her beautiful voice!!
-I wouldn't mind being a police officer - I feel like it'd make my daddy proud. But he tells me to use my head, not my hands in a career.
-An artist, but I'm not good enough.
-A writer, but for the same reason as above.

Not want to do:

-A social worker
-A talk show host
-A firefighter

-I've always fancied the idea of being an author, though I'm incredibly inpatient so I could never hope to attempt writing a novel.
-As a music lover, I've contemplated going towards that, but I realized that it's rather hard to try being a musician when you a.)Have no talent, and b.)The only instrument you could play was the saxophone in 5th grade.
-A photographer, but that'll never pan out seeing as I just don't have the eye for it (so it seems), out of the 1500+ photos I've taken only 1 or 2 were any good by my own standards.
-I'd also love to be an artist, but I've moved on from that because my sister got all the artistic talent genes and even "famous" artists can end up scraping by so it's not realistic.

I'd hate to be... An office drone (seems most likely though. :P), though I don't really hate the idea, just seems rather boring I suppose. Eh, I don't really think there's a job I'd hate that much as long as the pay's right.

I'd love to be a private investigator. I love the reasearch and definitely the adventure.

I would never be an accountant/bookkeeper. Don't think anyone would want me to keep their books.

I would love to be a singer/songwriter/guitar player in a rock band or a radio DJ.

I would hate to be a telemarketer or IRS agent. I've never met anyone that likes them.

I doubt I would enjoy being goalie for the dart team.

I might appreciate being an advocate for children.

I would love to be an actress in very emotional, expressive roles, perhaps about mental illness or finding yourself!!!

I would love to be a nurse, if only I could be...........**sigh**

I would love to be yes, one of those truly sensitive and personable teachers that students feel they can confide in....

I came close to becoming the last two, by the way, I was accepted both at nursing school and at master's of education program, only to know I am too sensitive/cannot be or play the mean guy the strict guy/in order to get students to do their work....also cannot pay attention to details as nurses do....

I would love to be a rocker, perhaps like Paula Cole or Jewel, with something to truly SAY/EXPRESS in their music and songs.....

I would love to be a dancer, perhaps on Broadway...(love NYC!!)

I would love to be an artist,,painting, of course, emotions!! I am very very emotional

I would love to be an author,,writing my autobiography, in order to help those like me (If anyone is like me...that is....)

I would love to be a flower deliverer, bringing smiles everywhere I go!!

I would love to be an architect of beautiful greenhouses and parks, portraying nature and all its beauty


I would love to live and die with PC, for perhaps those who truly understand me will see me memorialized with the things I have written and expressed here..perhaps that is the day I become published....

hmm the jobs i would like to have (or once tried to get maybe even still a possibility) are.

comedian -i have a quick wit i just have to much ambition to be a comedian it doesn't have enough of what i want

military sniper - im a patient person and the military has always seemed like an option plus it would open many doors later in life, but my eyesight is terrible and it is getting worse

lawyer - i love arguing and im good at it , i also can argue any side of any argument i don't really care what im defending or attacking i just like winning them. just too much politics involved

medical doctor -fixing people sounds like fun and the human body is intersting, i just didn't think i would be accomplishing anything that long term

detective - i love a mystery and figuring stuff out, just too much politics involved

id pretty much hate any job where i feel like im replaceable or insignificant in the big picture

I would like to be a novelist though in contrast to someone else here who wanted to be a famous novelist, I'd like to be anonymous, using a pen name.

There are simply too many things I wouldn't do to list them all but a short list is: butcher, logger, cop... anything that can cause, in the performance of their duties, death to anyone or anything.

Would that be a regular dart team, or a lawn dart team?

Jobs I would want to do:
-Rock Star - Singer. But I can't write music, I can sing all day and play multiple instruments, but no music writing abilities.
-Florist. Making floral arrangements all day, seems quite relaxing, just go with the flow. My problem, it would have to be perfect.
-Tech Theater - Specifically Set Design and Makeup.
-Artist - Pottery, fabrics, jewelry, paintings, mixed media, crafts.
-Co-Owner of a pron store. Me and my friend are working on that one. :P
