My DH is away so I can cook/eat whatever I want! I just made my own little bowl of eggy potato salad for "breakfast" and I'm going to the grocery store later to get lettuce and bacon so I can have a BLT or two for dinner with my home grown tomatoes.

Oh that sounds incredibly yummy and definitely better than what I'm having.

Enjoy it.

Swede is a purple and cream skinned vegetable that is very maligned...it tastes perfect with mashed carrots and a little butter and salt...

In some coutnries it is known as a Turnip ...the swede is a round root vegetable which is usually V-cut <D

Just love em...but leave the woody ones alone they are yuck...

My error not a parsnip

Ok, I know turnips. Cooked often in the southern US with their greens in boiling water and pork meat seasoning. If done right, they are quite tasty.

My spouse won't eat them, but will eat the greens.
