However, groups like the WWF and PETA are also jerks (IMO). I do not agree with throwing blood on celebrities because they wear a fur coat. WWF has programs for conservation of lands that essentially annex people's land and kick them out. They're no better than the animal abuse companies.
The model in the fur coat spraying blood on the audience as she walked the runway was my favorite commercial.

The best thing you can do is buy local. As for animal testing: there are 2 very separate thoughts when it comes to ethics of this. Do the ends justify the means? You really want to save rats that reproduce like crazy so that people continue to live with cancer or other diseases? Cosmetic companies have largely moved away from using animal testing. And it says right there on the label if they don't do it. Support companies that support your beliefs.
Frankly, I don't think about it.

Chancellor - if you don't think about it.....why are you commenting? Obviously there is something that clicked with you.

If you are okay buying meat from a company known to physically abuse their animals, that's your conscience....not mine.
Thanks for this!

That bothers me as well. I find it quite hypocritical.
I am a vegetarian; I have been since I was 12 years old(almost 15 now).
I think it is their choice, although in my opinion an unjust one, but I don't want to force my own opinions in their heads.
Most people who eat meat eat it because it "tastes good"(bleh!) but what bothers me is the WAYS these animals are being killed... It's horrible and cruel, especially fast food industries like McDonald's and how they get their meat.

So what I think is--if they just "have" to eat meat--choose it, use it, but don't abuse it!
Thanks for this!

The halal way of killing animals is probably the most barbaric I have ever encountered. The current situation in Australia where 70% of us want live animal exports stopped because they can't guarantee humane killing.

It has been shown that in Malaysia the killers seemingly enjoy torturing the animals and have wide smiles as they cut the animals throats. If that is halal then it shows poorly upon those who claim it is humane.

I think that live exports should be stopped and the halal process banned and if it is not banned then those slaughterhouses which continue halal be stricken off as possible buyers.

I tend to eat lower on the food chain. I do eat dairy products frequently.

Well changing your diet to a vegetarian diet... especially a vegan diet requires a lot of planning to get the vitamins and nutrients a person needs daily. Many people did not grow up in a vegetarian and vegan home and grew up eating meat so they may not know how to go about lifestyle like that. It's not as simple as "not eating meat or animal byproducts". Not saying it's impossible but it's not fair to judge those who LOVE animals for eating meat.
