I just finished painting a birthday card for my 'baby girl' who will be 40 very soon. I'm racking my brain to think of something wonderful to write inside it.

She is a beautful person inside and on the outside, a real Drop Dead Diva, wife and mother.

She is a very conservative Christian, homeschools and loves live.

She is an excellent cook, homemaker and example to all.

She is so much in love with her family.

Any ideas? I am not a poet type of person, but I would love to get some lovely poem type of thoughts to add to the card.

HELP is needed here!

To my baby girl
How I love you so.
I've watched the person you've grown into.
I am so very proud of you
I see you are a wonderfull mother and wife
I see how you enjoy and live life
There are so many wonderfull things I could spout
I see how truly you beautifull you are inside and out
On this day of your birth I am proud to say
I love you my beautifull daughter
Happy birthday

Let us know how your 'babie's' birthday goes!! She sounds wonderful, and it is probably due to the person that raised her

I found this online, which could easily be modified to suit your daughters particular situation:

Quote:
Birthday Poem For A Christian

Another year older, a year of living in the light of the Lord,
A time of changing, a time of growing,
A time of learning to use His Sword

Maturing more as the days go on,
Telling others what Christ has taught you,
Touching hearts as you travel along,
Living love - we can see Him in you.

A miracle is working there in your heart,
A new beginning, He changed you right from the start,
And now you know that there is no turning back,
The grace of God you will never lack.

You're a picture of what our great Redeemer can do,
When you walk in His love, you make an excellent view,
You are changing on the inside, it's really plain to see,
Like a stranger to this world - living for eternity,
Committed to our Saviour, you are resting in His hands,
He planned your future long ago, before your life began.

Oh, delight yourself forever in the living Lord,
Wait on His gracious love and receive His Word,
Taste and see how good our God is,
He is awe-inspiring and His name is Jesus!

He is your refuge when your times get tough,
His provision will always be enough,
Your steps are directed by the Father of lights,
Trust fully in Him, your future is bright.

Shine out, my friend, and show them the way,
Light up the darkness, hold the shadows at bay,
Free the captives, as Christ has freed you,
Tell others the wonders of what our God can do.

Praise God and live a life pleasing to Him,
Lift up your voice and let your heart sing,
Seek the Lord's guidance and live in His will,
Come before Jesus and learn to be still.

Though this life seems so hard and you may fail sometimes,
Get on Hind's feet - there are still mountains to climb,
When you reach the highest peak, there will be joy without end,
God will say, "Well done, My servant and friend."

Quote:
I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry

I was there to hear your borning cry,
I'll be there when you are old.
I rejoiced the day you were baptized,
to see your life unfold.
I was there when you were but a child,
with a faith to suit you well;
In a blaze of light you wandered off
to find where demons dwell.

When you heard the wonder of the Word
I was there to cheer you on;
You were raised to praise the living Lord,
to whom you now belong.
If you find someone to share your time
and you join your hearts as one,
I'll be there to make your verses rhyme
from dusk 'till rising sun.

In the middle ages of your life,
not too old, no longer young,
I'll be there to guide you through the night,
complete what I've begun.
When the evening gently closes in,
and you shut your weary eyes,
I'll be there as I have always been
with just one more surprise.
I was there to hear your borning cry,
I'll be there when you are old.
I rejoiced the day you were baptized,
to see your life unfold.

And now i'll take a crack at my own written:

A long time ago, when I was young
and you were still in the arms of God
your father and I fell in perfect love
Both of us were awed!

Your father one day proposed to me
love shining in his eyes
I said yes and married we were
Soul mates together, intertwined forever as allies

One day I awoke, to my surprise
I was not feeling well
I got sick immediately
and thought Gee this is SWELL!

But do not fret for I was fine
I was not under the weather
I was pregnant with a baby
and soon life would be better!

We rejoiced and praised the Lord
as we watched you grow and kick
You were strong, healthy and ACTIVE
and gave your old mom quite a few good licks

The very day I knew that you were near I shouted,
"BRING THE CAR AROUND AND HURRY!"
Your father panicked, gasped and spouted
words of his endearing and heartful(but unnecessary) worry!

It went fine and you were born
On that (cold)(warm) [Month] day
We took one look at little, impossibly tiny and perfect you
And loved you in every way!

You began to grow and grow so fast
I thought you might be tall
you were so healthy and perfect and loving
The best daughter of all!

Your first time leaving me for a day
On your first day of school
YOU made it through the day just fine
I cried like a fool!

For I missed you so and felt just like
I needed to adjust
You did great and were just fine
Be strong I told my self, I must I must I must!

You grew still more into a part woman and part girl
Began to love both boys and toys Much to my Chagrin,
Had your first date at [age]
And your first time late coming in

I knew then that my baby girl
was growing in to her gorgeous and perfect soul
Beautiful , strong, faithful and kind
You were really on a roll!

I still thought of you, however
As my little girl
slowly i began to see
adulthood you were giving a whirl

Then came the day when high school was over
and you stood in your gown and hat
Your face lit up and you shone so bright
as we sat there and had an intimate chat

You shared your dreams, your thoughts for life
Your love for many things
Your dislike of some of the bad in the world
and all the situations that may sting

I remember being blown away by everything you said,
Getting to know you through the years was a thrill!
I thought I knew everything to know but
This daughter of mine turned out to be more amazing still!

For you had everything I admired
In any woman I knew of
Compassion, kindness, Intelligence and wit
With the Gentle personality of a white dove

I rejoiced in your faith, was overjoyed with your life
and couldn't have felt better
about the girl that I raised
I'm telling you right now in this letter.

That you are now married dear,
and have a family of your own
Turning Forty you are in a short time
I reflect upon the life that you have sown!

For you have really done so well
I could not ask a drop more
I want for nothing but what i have
Anyone who asks will hear me give the score

She is gorgeous, she is kind, and faithful to the Lord
She carries those who cannot walk, and fixes friends discord
Loves animals and humans too and all life everywhere
She respects herself and those she meets and always gives a care

In fact, dear daughter I don't think there is much one could not love!
Though of course only God is perfect and we are flawed,
I simply cannot find a single thing
To make me not applaud.

So today I will smile as I look back
On forty wonderful years
And I will hope that things go well
And life never brings you sad tears.

The only tears I wish you to have
Are those of shining joy
Those of faith and love and hope
Sigh... is your dear old mom prattling on beginning to annoy?

Dear Daughter,

<here is a small paragraph for you to write her her>

Love, Mom

Who says you're not a poet-type person? Looks like it to me!

Beautiful person, inside and out;
A real Drop Dead Diva, wife, and mother.
Cook, homemaker, an example to all,
Christian, homeschooler and lover of Live.
Here is to you my child, my heart;
Happy 40th dear, and many more to come.

Wow gals,

I didn't expect to get all this! I'm blesses here at PC.

MandiePoo...you have quit a talent! Thanks for allyour thoughfulness in 'trying your own' hand at a poem.

Your thoughts are weel appreciated Junerain and Rhiannonsmoon. My baby has grown up to be a wonderful Christian, inspite of ME! Her husband can take a lot of the credit in truly loving her.

Perma, you sure know how to twist my words into poetry!

Now to decide how to use some of these words to fit inside the regular sized card I painted for her!

Thank you all so much.

Oh, and MandiPoo thank you for the link, I'll check that out as well.

Thanks you MandiePoo,

I sure will. It has so much I can use, but not the exact story about the going into labor bit....I had to schedule an appointment and be induced....she was 2 weeks late! First baby was 3 1/2 weeks late!

They were both the most beautiful babies in the world. Still are. Son is 43 and still looks so young. Or is it me how is getting older. Nope, they both really do look much younger than their years! I think part of it is because they are slim.

You have talent for writing MandiePoo! Keep on doing it.

heehee, I am in fact, an amateur writer and have made a LITTLE money from my writing(think, under 200 bucks for a few articles lol).

Yeah, I have to admit, I do not know you that well (yet, hopefully! I used to be Rainbowzz so I have been on here but mostly away)so for alot of it I was guessing. Thats partly why for example I put [month] [other adjective], etc - that way you can fill in or change what you need.

If you even want, you can give me some details and I can go through and make some changes!
