I guess - if you're only goal in life is to do nothing. I've been disabled and homebound for quite some time now and stuck in bed most of the time - so I'm now useless to society, forgotten by most. Not having to work is not as fulfilling as it sounds. It doesn't compare to how it feels to be needed and useful in this world - to know your life matters to someone other than yourself. Kinda sucks, actually.

IDK but that we have crossed the line from "good" quotes to quotes to make us think. A very recent one I heard, "‘..."We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us"..."

The line between "good" quotes to quotes to make us think. Hmmm. I always had the idea that "good" quotes WERE "quotes to make us think."

Your "recent" quote is sad. We really, none of us, need any more viciousness around. There's too much as it is. If the "enemies" are fellow citizens of the United States, they ARE allowed to have their opinions and to act on them. Without punishment, even if they lose an election.
