I just wanted to share with everyone what happened to me today. My friend and I were lifting weights, which I love doing. We had finished a few sets and were taking the weights off the bar so that we could put different ones on to do curls. I was taking my weights off and had a couple of plates off. Somehow my friend and I were not synchronized very good and while I was sliding mine off he hadn't had his off yet. So, as anyone knows who lifts weights, the bar swung up and knocked the other side up. In doing so, the bar swung right up into my face. I wasn't sure what had happened at first other than I was an intense pain, but I knew it wasn't good.

I tried walking it off because I didn't know how bad it was. When I went into the bathroom to look in the mirror I had blood all over my teeth, and I thought I had knocked one out. When I got the blood off I saw that I had chipped one of my two front teeth, and that it was coming out. It was very loose. I was so upset. My other teeth were hurting as was my whole face. I ended up going to the E.R. and they told me that the tooth was very loose but that they couldn't do anything for me other than to give me pain medication and that I would have to pay $150 for it. I felt I could go through the pain so I just decided to wait and go to the Dentist they recommended to me tomorrow morning.

It's hurting really bad right now and I think they'll have to take the tooth out, replace it, and cap it.. I'm not sure though. I just wish the pain would go away, I haven't taken any medication for it. I hope the Dentist he recommended me to will accept me because it's federally funded, but I do have two jobs and they may think I make too much.. I'm just hoping for the best... Needless to say, but to top it all off, today is my Birthday. Great Birthday present, huh?

Well the news today wasn't too too good.. They didn't have the stuff they needed so I have to go back tomorrow so that they can work on me. Tomorrow they are going to have to use one of those needle things and give me a shot in my gum to numb my mouth. Then they have to work on me and wrap some sort of wire around my four front teeth in order to keep the bad one from falling out. They said they couldn't tell me much today because it takes a few days after the trauma to know about what type of long-term damage it entails. So tomorrow I go in and have the work done and then in two-three weeks I have to go back. They also found something on the x-ray that wasn't too good. It could either be because of the initial trauma and it can heal, or it could be nerve damage. If it's nerve damage I will have to have the tooth pulled and they will have to screw a new one in. I would still have to go a while without a tooth until it healed enough to do that. If it isn't nerve damage then I will just have to have it capped which shouldn't cost more than $600. So I am praying that it will heal. As long as there isn't any nerve or long-term damage the tooth SHOULD tighten and heal up where it won't be loose anymore. But we will see.. Only time will tell.. Wish me luck tomorrow and I will post tomorrow after what happens.
