I lied today. I told AJ's dad my brita pitcher cracked and he said he'd get me another one. It didn't crack..I don't think I am paranoid. Just this new "renter" who is friends with the past problem renters, keeps screwing with my brita pitcher. All you do is put water in it and put the lid on. The lid isn't even a screw on type lid, you just plop it on top...No need to "struggle" whatsoever..... plain easy and simple..
Well last night, he "again" made a big production with filling the pitcher with water. He is a big guy. 6ft 2 over 250 lbs. He was at the sink, his back turned, kept turning his head to the side rubbing his nose, several times, so I walk over to the sink and he is rubbing his hands all over the lid and struggling to get the lid on..I really don't know what he was doing. Was taking him way too long to put the lid back on...He wasn't in plain view and he seemed to be hiding what he was doing??????So he gets his water, plays with puppy a bit and goes upstairs. Comes back and asks me if I made coffee with the water.. ALL kinds red flags popping up. Why would he ask me what I did with the water? And why would he care? Why was he taking so long and struggling with the pitcher....And what is the deal with him rubbing his nose and rubbing his hands all over the lid of the pitcher? Little did he know that I dumped out the water and cleaned the lid and pitcher when he went upstairs. WHY? I dunno why, guess because he kept touching his nose and rubbing the lid with his nose touched fingers? What flipped me out was he asked what did I do with the water and did I make coffee with it? OK I know, I sound nuts ... But you see, it is just a simple task filling the pitcher with water and putting the lid back on. Takes longer to fill the pitcher than to put the lid on. What is the deal with hiding what you are doing and struggling too and taking so long??????? First of all "IT is MY filtered water" and that does not come with the rental deal...You can drink the filtered water, but don't screw around with the pitcher and filter......I have no problem sharing as I do have a problem with the "production he makes when he touches MY filter.....I've mentioned it to him before and I guess he "forgets........Problem will be solved because I'm getting another pitcher and he can take the old one upstairs and do whatever he wants with it.. Where is all of this coming from? What is the big deal? Well I don't trust any of the renters any further than my own nose. The last few renters were hooked on oxycotton which I didn't know and I eventually found out and are now "history".. The hoarding of the aluminium foil, the nose rubbing, I didn't even once think it was drugs.. DUH... Now I am super sensitive... I have enough problems and I am not dealing with drug problems with renters..................... They are all friends. The old renter and the new one. I tell all new renters that if they are caught with any kinds of drugs, if they sniff it, smoke it, eat it, or stick it up their butt, they will have 24 hours to vacate and noooooooooooooo second chances.... Everyone appears nice in the beginning. I have been easily fooled. SO now I am on super alert. Excessive nose rubbing.. is an alert. I don't know if this guy is taking oxycotton.... People are not always what they seem to be. Innocent can look guilty.... Guilty can look innocent... So does that make me look paranoid.. Not sure.. Maybe? Maybe paranoid can be good in some cases... maybe not..... maybe it is not paranoid. Maybe it is being careful and alert? PLEase forgive the long rant...........Trusting people is very hard. Especially when I have been easily fooled...I never give anyone l00 percent trust. Earned or not.. There is always a percent of doubt.... |

I am sorry you have been hurt by some people, kikki. Is sad how hurtful some people can be.. But we must always remember there are also wonderful, caring people too..
But then it is also good to "keep our guard up" around those we are not sure of. This makes me think of the expression "is better to be safe than sorry"... If something doesn't "seem right" no harm done by being careful... |

I wouldn't even let him use/touch the filtered water; let him use tap water or buy his own container (and refrigerator space). Sounds like he may be using OxyContin too:

Thanks racee...Is just odd how he seems to hide what he is doing when he is using the water pitcher. Doesn't do that when he gets milk or soda or food.. shrugs shoulders.......

I don't think you're paranoid either. Make it clear, the Brita pitcher is yours and hands off. You could even take it to your room lol. I think this is the same guy from the nose picking thread - ask him does he have allergies and you would appreciate if he doesn't touch his nose and then touch everything else.

Perna... they smoke that oxycotin too.. Don't understand how they can smoke it other than I guess crushing the tablets, but I have learned they use aluminium foil to smoke it I need to search online to see if oxycotin can cause dehydration? Just curious I guess. Just are times when this guy seems to want more water/ice than other times.
Guess I need to somehow find out if this guy is using any kind of drugs...I flat out asked him once and he said he wasn't. He knows where I stand on the topic of "drugs" as I made it clear before he moved in...... I want to believe him, but I know I can't.. As for the water pitcher, I am getting another one today and will take the old one upstairs. This way there is no need for him to use mine downstairs. I don't want him touching mine........... Come to think of it, the one young man was always rubbing his nose or snorting water up his nose, later found out he was also using oxycotin..Guess he was sniffing it? It will eventually come out if he is using or not...I am just being careful until I know for sure. I do hope I am wrong tho |

Lynn... I did take the pitcher in my room and hid it in the closet.. lol..... And yes, this is the same guy from the nose picking thread. I have mentioned to him to wash his hands after he touches his nose especially when he is in the kitchen or touching the water pitcher.. Guess he forgot?
May have to keep the new Brita pitcher and coffee pot in my bedroom.. lol Don't want anyone messing with my brita.. ![]() |

radio_flyer,
do your renters live in the same house as you and/or share your kitchen? i wasn't clear about what he was doing in your kitchen using your Brita Filter to begin with. this is very painful to share but major red flags went up for me too when i read this. be very very careful. many years ago i was at a party and all of a sudden i started hallucinating. seems as though my boyfriend put mescaline laced lsd in my coolaide. was a horrible night that left scars, not to mention the trust issues that got blown all to hell. then several years later it happened in a bar but this time i saw the person do it (in my beer when i turned my head for just a moment). i at least always carried my drink with me to the bathroom if in a bar, and never took my eyes too far off of my glass anywhere, mostly kept it in-hand. i don't drink or go to bars anymore, but it took me many years to stop throwing out everything liquid...bottles of milk, soda, water, etc. after i had opened it and it was in the refrigerator, even when i lived alone!!! (this is so hard to say, sorry, but i don't want it to happen to anybody else) but i still make sure to pour out my lemonade cup and wash the container real good when i get home from doing errands because i fear somebody will breaking into my car and put drugs in my lemonade. paranoid? you bet. but some scars don't heal. i've never shared that but i need to tell you that i understand how you feel. you were wise to pour the water out. there's no telling what he was up to. for me it has become a real phobia because of one idiot that thought it'd be fun. i will never overcome it and you are better off being safer than sorry. ![]() Last edited by DancingAlone; Dec 20, 2010 at 02:12 AM. Anything snorted up the nose is going to cuase irritation of the nose and that will have your lad there rubbing and picking at his nose all the time. It might mean that is why he might be drinking more at times if his nose is cracking and he feels like he is getting dry and cracking in his nose/throat. Sorry you have to deal with this. There are these "fad" drugs that hit areas in epidemics and just burn through the youth causing a lot of damage on the way. Is he a friend of your son's?
