Thanks Bugsy.....

I am in Brisbane, the capital of the state of Queensland, and we are flooded in on higher ground, so no damage to my particular house but some of our neighbours down the hill a few metres are not so lucky. My son and I will help with clean up when waters recede.

My thoughts go to the people in Toowoomba, Ipswich and Lockyer valley where there have been deceased and many missing.

Thankfully it has stopped raining, but there is a possibility of a cyclone in about 10 days time up north towards Cairns......hopefully that doesn't happen.

Thanks everyone for thinking of us Strange, devestating times, but we Aussies are hard nuts and we shall prevail.

Thanks for asking Lonegael

Foods getting a bit low but we have a couple of cans of beans left We are going to try and get out tomorrow and see if anything is open that we can get to.

Water integrity is okay at the moment for drinking water, but trying to store water in case that changes. The army is coming up from Sydney to bring supplies to regional and city areas of Queensland.

I have put my name down for medical volunteers because I think the worst health issues are yet to come. There is raw sewerage in the flood water not to mention water borne diseases. It feels good to put my hand up if they need me. Feel like I am doing something to help.

We are very fortunate. Time to give back to my brothers and sisters of Queensland.

Good luck Michah. I have to say, as devastating as the flooding looks, the thing I've taken away most of all from the news coverage in the UK has been the incredible strength of you Queenslanders. All the people I've seen interviewed are just kind of shrugging their shoulders and getting on with what they can, helping others and saying "No point screaming at the water, it's going to come however loud I am - might as well do something useful!". It's been really inspirational and I hope the waters recede soon so you can start getting back to normal.
Thanks for this!

Thanks everyone. We went under water 2 days ago and a road going uphill along side of the local pub fell away, spooky. Theres been no clean water and no access to food or milk either. Today's been the first day without rain for nearly a week in our part of Tassie and it's so hot and humid because the sun came out and the ground is so soaked.

We haven't had the scale that Qld has and I'd say we are on a par with Vic. So I ask Goddess to bring help from where ever it is possible for the folk in Qld. We are safe at the moment, but those people have lost everything and half of them were uninsured because they couldn't afford it. Bless em.

Hon, my deepest thoughts are with you dear one. I hope you and your family and friends are safe. Are you in an evac centre or have you been able to get home? Yeah, getting stuff to people is so hard. Have they made some arrangements to fly stuff in through the Army?

Some parts of Brisbane are still without power and food and water, but I gotta tell you, my heart goes out to regional Queensland. My fiance who works for Channel 9 just got back from Grantham where many perished and the whole town was obliterated. Not to down play the incredible grief that people are going through here with the loss of their houses and precious things, but it puts things in to a little perspective when you look at the images of Grantham and Murphy's Creek.

Oh boy, I have cried......and then cracked a beer......and gotten on with the job.

Take good care, and please let us know how you are going.

Biggest hugs

Michah
