i used to write poetry a lot when i was in the 8th grade but i stoped. i just never thought my poems were good enough. i worte a few more peoms after that, but they were mostly ****. i would look at other poems that were written by people my age, and i always thought they were so much better then mines. if you lookd at one of my poems, you could obvioulsy tell what i was feeling and what i was thinking. those other poems i would be like beautiful poems that could mean anything. everyone's aways better then me. i would like to write agian, but i dont know where to start

Why did you write poetry? If it's to be as good as you feel others are (perception, not actual fact) you might not get to enjoying it; I would just write for yourself. It takes a long time to really get good at anything, lots of practice.

Sometimes I use to take "professional" poems I like and rewrite them in my own words? That helped me, either match the cadence or sentiment, etc.

true. im not really sure why i wrote poetry. all i know is that i couldent just come up with a poem right there and then if you asked me, i woukd need to be inspried. i mention this because once in the 8th grade, one of my teachers who noticed my poetry and liked it, asked if i could write a poem right there and then...and i was like..''about what?'' lol
