I would like to thank my hairdresser, Darcie. She always makes me feel better, and when I beat breast cancer, she even dyed my hair pink. She always undercharges me, and I always overtip her.

I just came across this thread........a little slow on the uptake. But you ALL know who I wish to thank! PC and every last one of you. This is my life. It gives me my reason. When I'm on my computer all the horrible stuff drains away. I can't thank each of you and PC enough.
Thanks for this!

I have tried to make "thank you" what I say to anyone who has been of any assistance to me in anything that I try to do.

My Dr's office has been so wonderful at trying to make things work during this trying time of not being able to get my med through the pharmacy.....so I make sure that they know that I appreciate all that they have done to make the situation into the best it can possibly be.

When I was having problems getting the prescription filled, the person I talked to on the phone was wonderful at giving me the information about what was really going on & what & why there was this problem....even though I was so very frustrated & not a happy camper because there was a problem, I made sure that I thanked the person for taking the time to figure out what was going on & letting me know.

When I walked into the internet company the other day very angry that my internet was down & I couldn't even call because they phone was constantly busy....by the time they provided me with an understanding of what the problem was & let me know they were really working on the problem....all I could do was to thank the for the long hours they were putting it to make it right....rather than throwing complaints at them for the problem....it's much better to give them thanks for all the work they were really doing.

Had to chuckle about the thank you note thing.....I just finished writing the thank you notes from Christmas & my birthday (back in February). So many people don't even bother writing thank you notes anymore.....we seem to take for granted that we deserve what we get & we don't need to write thank you notes if we tell them thank you anyway....that should be enough right???? I know that even when I have been told thank you, that personal touch of a thank you note really makes me feel good....I have one gift that I went to a lot of trouble to make & then sent along with another present for the new baby of my friends first son & his wife....I never did get a thank you note from them.....I even wonder if they got the gift since I sent it to California.

I think that "thank you" are the most important words......in most cases, it helps me to look for the things that I am thankful for because it takes me out of the negative thinking that I can sometimes get into. Almost similar to the Pollyanna "glad game"....but I find that it puts me into a better mood & also puts the other people in a better mood because sometimes they are as frustrated as I am & are trying their hardest to do a good job even if it doesn't seem like it at the time.

I made sure that I told my psychologist "thank you" for calling me back when I was in the middle of my melt down last week when I saw her this week. She said what a difference she has seen in me in just this last year & a few months.....as when I moved here it seemed that everything that I needed, I had to fight for & it didn't make me feel very pleasant toward anyone & "thank you" pretty much wasn't in my vocabulary unless it was really something like a gift or something that a thank you is normally for. I am is such a more positive mood that finding the things to be thankful to others for rather than griping at them has been a huge change in how I am feeling about life in general.

Of course, my largest "thank you" goes to God who has guided my life to where it is today.....without that guidance, I would not be where I am or have the attitude change that has been so possible.

Good point about writing thank you notes or even a good old fashioned letter instead of an email would be nice. I agree a thank you note makes to reciever feels so special. Wonderful you have so much to be thankful for eskielover.

I thank my girlfriend Britany for being a path setter in my life, for introducing me to so many people that are capable of expanding the horizons in my life, people that accept me for who I am and embrace it with love and care.
Thanks for this!

I would like to thank my grandpa, who was a wonderful influence for me growing up.

He set a standard which no man in my life has been able to live up to--a kind of curse for me; but then, again, I like a principled, honest, witty male--why is that too much to ask for in today's society?
Thanks for this!

Wow....
I would like to thank all those who have contributed to all the lessons of love I have learned..
Parents....do any of you recall that (sometimes threat)..."just wait till you have your own kids!" Sometimes it always sounded like some Mantra they chanted in order to exact some sort of revenge, LOL,1
But, oh the truth! As Samuel Clemens would remark on how he didn't realize just how wise his parents were until he got older...sad but true...how I stand amazed at my parents, knowing what I know now...that kind of Love.
My daughter...she will never know what inspiration and motivation she presented to me with just her birth. She was born one month after her father died...her birth catapulted me into motion to make our life better. I went to college, bought a house, and raised her...it was a very sacred time. And since her birth, now 22 years later...the blessings are still forthcoming....such an unconditional lesson of Love.
Family...they taught me belonging...and lessons of how to live...community...and a wicked sense of humor...Lessons of a tribe...Love.
Friends...membership of a different sort...lessons of how to trust others...they become family by choice...and a special friend who taught me the possiblity of contracts to remember each other...
Life Partner...all though he is my angst...the one who can break my heart...and bring great joy...I am grateful to be able to know this Love...the surrendering...
To all those that have intersected through out my life....all the stories..many sad, many resilient, many teaching their own lessons to me...
I am grateful
Thanks for this!

I'd like to thank the PC community. What an amazing bunch of smart, kind, funny, courageous, and inspiring people. I'd also like to thank my relatives, too often blamed and not enough appreciated by me. They were talented artists, writers and musicians, and they did the best that they could, with what they knew.

A2F, I've often repeated Clemens' quote about his father, one of my favorites.
Thanks for this!

Today I would like to thank my 2 daughters piano teacher. They're a couple who are 80 yrs old and customers of my husband for 25 yrs. I just met them in October and we go to their house every Sunday. The husband teaches them the easier way by learning the chords. After only 2 lessons, they were both playing with 2 hands and knew 2 songs.

They were originally from the Philippines and immigrated here many years ago. They had 3 children of their own, then adopted 3 more. They're the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They treat us like family and I can actually see they have this special way of living. They're old but don't act or look old because they have this amazing zest for life.

She tells me stories about how her husband suffered racial prejudice but they didn't let it make them bitter. They volunteer their time at the senior center and coordinate the choir for them and also at the Philippine center. My girls don't have grandparents - they're all deceased, so this is a real treat to see them on Sunday. Both my girls now know at least 10 songs and my oldest can download music and play it...she plays so well that I find it relaxing to listen to her.

I agree CSC - I came here to PC when I was tormented with my marriage secret -no one IRL knows about it(far too embarrassing). Anyway I felt great relief being able to share it here and have met some wonderful, kind people here.
