I'm not sure if this thread has been made yet or not, but I'm going to start one anyway. For me, I always need to have goals and something to aim at to keep me from sinking to far into my thoughts and feelings. It's one of those things that keeps me going and distracted and always thinking of the bigger picture. I strongly suggest it to anyone struggling, it really helps. Here is where you can share your goals for this summer.

I'll start.

-Practice a couple hours a day if possible on instruments.
-Excersize daily.
-Work on Rosetta Stone daily.
-Write in journal daily.
-Try to overcome some of my anxiety and depressive feelings before next school year.
-Do summer projects.
-Train to hopefully make varsity tennis next year.
-Get back on track with my writing.

There are a couple more, but those are the main ones. Post away!

my goals are

- to make my home suitable to my physical needs - and if neither adult or mental health services are willing to help me, my goal will be to raise the cash to adapt it myself!

- breed my gerbils then divide then into boys and girls so as to stop further breeding!

- gt a passport and book a holiday
Thanks for this!

Clean my apartment.

Find a job.

Finish teaching the course I'm teaching.

Practice my instruments each day so that I'm ready for the fall semester at the conservatory.

Continue with my knitting.

Go to the World Harp Congress in Vancouver in July.

Get my diet back on track.

85 for the high today in Cincinnati. Was sunny earlier on but after I woke up from a nap it was cloudy and I think it rained for a few minutes, but supposed to be sunny for the next few days or so along with high 80's-low/mid 90's.

#1- To work on my health;
To finish/get through summer school as best as I can, hopefully passing;
Work with the dog on obedience training, have started some classes and to finish them;
Then when school is over, to work on the house... some painting and organizing/spring cleaning;
Enjoy the beach; and
Travel in the later part of the summer to visit friends and family.

thewho - first of all i think it was very amusing when you posted the Cincinnati weather on this thread. I had just read the other post about the weather and I knew that you had mixed the 2 up. Very funny. Maybe your goal deep down is to become a weatherperson......?

Secondly - I was kind of touched when i read your 3rd goal "get a friend". it sounds so inocent and powerful at the same time. I can totally adopt that goal myself (but would have never thought of it had i not read your post), but it's so difficult to achieve that, i think i don't try hard enough.
Thanks for this!

I think i don't give this enough thought. I like this post. Let's see:

- Allow myself to love more
- Become more tolerant of different people
- Continue therapy and not give up just because I feel better
Thanks for this!

My goals: (I want to keep them very simply so I can actually follow them)

- get a job/volunteer
- find income (social assistance, unemployment insurance, job)
- meet some people
- find some activity to do that moves my body every day (walking, swimming, working, etc.)
- write and/or draw at least a few times a week
- go to the cottage
- get orthopedics so I can actually enjoy walking again
- if all else fails, have fun!!! <3
Thanks for this!

Not to melt!! (Summers in Texas are miserable.)

Actually, I don't have any goals for the summer. I'm off until August and I plan to take it easy.
Thanks for this!

No absolute goals except working towards an ultimate goal.

I need/want to organize the last of my clutter!
I finally took pictures of my bells in my collection, and hope to sell them at upillar.com perhaps?

I need to take pictures of the teddy bears that are limited edition and get them on upillar as well, for sale.

Finish back yard grooming.
Regroup on the veggie garden, train PCA more on the art of weed pulling

Decide if I need a small pool for exercise for me and caleb.

Finish sorting my mom's clothes and jewelry? and determine what I will give locally or what will ship to relatives.

Rearrange the kitchen so I can display and use all the small appliances (I got all sorts of neat stuff of mom's : breadmaker, rotisserie...)

And then the ongoing: eat healthy, try to lose the last 18 lbs!
Continue with good self care (and do better!) and going to physical therapy... and psychotherapy to try and find out why I'm so outrageously triggered at times after 24 years (of therapy)...

((junerain))

Oh... I do have one thing I'm really working actively on... stocking food and supplies! I have 2 months and I've just gone over my "have" list and making my "buy" list ...heading towards 6 months this summer. (This includes food I would have for emergency for hurricane too)

To make a whole lot of money.
If I'm not miserable because I don't know what to do with all the damn money I'm making, then I'm not making enough.

Thats my goal.
Thanks for this!

My goals for the summer...

-Keep myself so busy that I don't have time to think.
-Singing lessons
-Maybe acting lessons
-Preparing for a college entrance exam
-Prepare for driver's permit
-Find a therapist so I'm able to do all the above things without losing my marbles

Yep, that's about it.
Thanks for this!

- sign up for a cardio fitness class (zumba is what I'm going for)
- prove to my father I'm serious about dance
- get into ballet class
- start doing yoga at home to improve flexibility
- go for a walk at least once a week
- hang out with friends more
- stop over thinking
- go swimming every day unless it's cold or rainy
- find a school to go to

I just realized most of my goals involve exercise.. I'm going to be tired this summer!
