Does anyone know if black ants harm sunflowers? They aren't big, just little run-of-the-mill ants. Some of the leaves on my sunflowers are all but chewed to pieces, with only the veins remaining. If not the ants, do you know what might be doing this? Thanks!

yes, here is a link below for you so i dont have to write it all down

the sunflower stem weevil, red sunflower seed weevil, sunflower maggot, sunflower midge, banded sunflower moth and sunflower headclipping weevil. are all pesky creatures that harm your sunflower
