I posted a while back about being pretty down about my credit. It dropped a lot when I was put on collections for my workers comp not paying work related medical bills and basically maxing out my credit cards to move half way across the country.
A little over a year ago (June 2010) I went through, canceled a credit card that was just being ridiculous and really took a hard look at my finances. We have cut out a lot of luxuries and went back to the basics for a lot of stuff. I also started paying a little extra on my car every month. Since then my credit has gone up 66 points. Also, I have paid off over $1,000 of the card I canceled and have less than 3 years to pay off the rest. My car balance is under $8,000 now and should be paid off by April 2013. Also, since my credit has gone up my car insurance has gone down. I'm just pretty proud ![]() YAY! It feels so good to be (sort of) in control of my finances. I felt so helpless at this time last year. I hope this trend continues |
