The job market is rather dry to say the least. At the age of 56 and no option to use my one skill set, the job market is even more daunting and in my case holds approximately zero chance of a job w/ a livable wage.
If I ever get back on track I'd be interested in starting a small business.
People with indoor cats share a common PITA...the litterbox. I think there may be some interest in something that makes the litterbox a little less unpleasant. Any thoughts?

Perhaps an explanation of what the pics suggest? Yes, the litter box is an unpleasant reality of having a cat...my cat's litter box sits in the garage at this moment badly needing changed! It's my least favorite chore.

oops sorry I thought the pics told the story. There is a pane of plexiglass installed in the lower window opening. There is a small pet door installed in that plexiglass pane. The pet door leads into an enclosure that houses the litter box. The litter box is outside the house. No dust and no smell inside the house. There is a door on the enclosure for access to the litter box when litter needs to be removed/added.
Good for indoor cats only. The main drawback is you lose one window and you probably wouldn't want to use a window near any areas used for entertaining guests
This one works well enough but the enclosure could be as simple or as ornate as you wish. Your cat might appreciate a roof too for rainy days
Just a thought.

That would be problematic for colder climates. Going outside to clean it would be a pain. I wouldn't feel comfortable unless it was bolted to the window sill. Someone could move it around. There might be a security issue too.

I think you have a great idea....Security is not an issue in my area; probably not in other areas as well.
Thanks for this!

I'm in Houston so no issues with cold weather here and I have no plans to go national lol. I'm going to assume the climate issue is why you think it would be a PITA to go out to maintain the litter. I'm not sure who would move the enclosure or why they would... but if smeone requested it be attached to the house, that wouldn't be much trouble. There shouldn't be any security issue. The window sash (part that is raised/lowered) uses locks to prevent it being raised by burglars. The plexiglass is bolted to the frame from the inside so it's at least as secure as the other windows in the house.
Thanks for the input

The other thing: about "inventions...." As creative people go...I "invented" a "pet hair carpet brush" several years ago. I still use it!
There is still nothing on the market to rival it, and I did seek out some
avenues for marketing it. I even paid for a copywrite search thru a lawyer which cost me more than I could afford. I wrote to and submitted it to the state organization for new ideas for products and found this was just an organization in name only , probably there to collect their own paychecks. The kind of feedback I got from them was worthless. Anyway, I commend you on your innovation, but I wonder how you will venture onward with your idea.???

Thanks Patty. Sorry about your experience but you can send me one of them there brushes lol. I have a friend who invented several of the machines commonly used in fitness centers. Next time I see him I could ask about patents and marketing if you're still interested in pursuing that.
How will I venture onward with my idea? Very good question Looking at it objectively...it's a long shot. First I have to get through the Effexor withdrawal. Then hope that the Prozac works as well as it did the first time I used it. Then I try to become accustomed to going out again. Assuming all that works out...I'm starting from scratch because everything is gone. The cars, the truck, most of the bank account...all gone. I'd have to take a job, any job, and save money for a van, tools, and materials. Yes...it's a long shot

Could be but that isn't the point really. It gets the dust and smell out of your house. I don't know about you but that makes it worthwhile to me.

Troublemakers. It is an interesting idea, and I wish you well should this become a business venture. Thanks for sharing it with us.
